Very refined and traditional inn, where the incredibly gracious host makes you feel straight at home. Breakfast is lovely, the whole hotel is spotless, and the onsen bath is a definite highlight. Very quiet neighbourhood, with all the major attractions a bus ride away. I hope to visit again soon.

What a wonderful location! During our twoweek trip to japan, we wanted to visit a ryokan. We were drawn to this location when we looked. We were made to feel quite welcome and it was incredibly wonderful to witness the tea ceremony.

I would strongly recommend this establishment. I stayed at the establishment for one night, and the staff was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and easy to work with. The establishment has excellent communication, and they allowed me to park my rental bike in front of their facility. If the language barrier was an issue, the staff could speak excellent english and even directed me to topnotch restaurants and attractions. The bathroom was cozy and soothing, and the room was very cozy and clean. The tea ceremony was quite intriguing and gave off the impression that i was in a samurai movie. The tea ceremony was quite intriguing and gave off the impression that i was in a samurai movie. The host also provided me with an intriguing history lesson on matcha and tea ceremony in kyoto.

It was a perfect stay. The tea ceremony and breakfast are included in the price. The room was very clean and larger than other hotels. We learned a lot about japanese culture.

My first time staying in a ryokan, and i was blown away by it! This place is quite typical and serene. The owner is a very nice person. She guided me to witness the tea ceremony and took care of every detail of my stay as if nobody else had. It was truly amazing!.

If youre seeking for a genuine stay in a less busy part of kyoto, i would strongly suggest it. We had no issues with the stunning ryokan. The host is incredibly kind with her time, she led us through a tea ceremony and provided us with valuable information.

A lovely taste of oldstyle japan. The proprietors are clearly interested in the three traditional japanese arts tea ceremony, insence appreciation, and flower arrangement. There was no dinner served, only a japanese breakfast. The owners tea ceremony was a lovely touch. Slightly outside of kyotos tourist district, but very easy to get to gioon, etc. If thats where you want to go.

The owner provided excellent directions to the inn, as well as to nearby attractions and eateries. She also holds a traditional tea ceremony for her guests, which is a lovely way to experience and appreciate a japanese custom. The inn itself is in a lovely neighborhood, close to a few main attractions in kyoto, but also away from the crowds and surrounded by smaller businesses and more traditional streets. In addition, we left a bag at our previous destination, and the owner was incredibly patient, kind, and helpful in helping us get it back, even though we were only staying at ryokan toi for one night. I cannot recommend ryokan tori enough, and if i ever have the opportunity to return to kyotokyo, i would love to stay there again!.

We stayed near gion for two nights and ended our trip to kyoto with one night here which was perfect. We had a wonderful experience here. The host is very warm and welcoming, and we were greeted with tea and a traditional sweet. You can wear yukata around the property and really enjoyed the tea ceremony, bath, and breakfast. Its a bit far from the trendier areas in kyoto, but its great if you want to experience some traditional japanese practices at an excellent price point too.

You can find it here if youre looking for delicious food, delicious tea, and a warm and welcoming place to stay while exploring kyoto. A beautiful place. When i arrived, i immediately felt calm and at home, while immersed in traditional japanese culture, which the hostess manages to achieve.

Lovely one night at Ryokan Tori. It is located in a more residential area and the temples, shrines were within walking distance. Overall it was a relaxing experience included tea ceremony, private onsen and traditional Japanese breakfast.

One of the best and most unique hotel experiences! The owners are so kind and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and happy. The traditional japanese breakfast in the morning is so delicious, and the tea ceremony was such a unique and beautiful way to experience japanese tradition. Staying at ryokan tori was the highlight of our trip to japan, we cant wait to come back and visit again.
