This traditional Japanese in was a delight to stay in. The tatami room was a delight, the staff was very attentive and gracious. The location in Yoshino was very good for walking. The food was excellent and the hot springs provided perfect nightly relaxation.

I feel uncomfortable here, because it must be improved. I've stayed at Roman-style hotels before, and I've had a few. Although the hotel is outdated, I really appreciated the atmosphere. Although there is no problem with the temperature control, the public hot spring baths are excellent and offer complimentary sake. One of the pools is just too hot to swim in. Most employees are unable to communicate effectively because they can't speak English well. That's fine, but here is a significant issue, since my travel companion is a vegetarian. I've made it work out regarding the food's availability during the booking and even when we arrive. However, they cannot change the food, and let it either went uncorrect or mistaken. The following morning, the breakfast stalled again after I complained. The front desk has since apologized for that and returned a certain amount to us.

Sakura is a very old inn more than 300 years old that needs repairs to improve the user experience. Owners and staff were very polite and warm but spoke little English. The rooms are in Japanese style, I stayed in one with a western toilet but hygiene and cleanliness are extremely questionable. The toilet wasn't cleaned well, hair from previous guests was in the sinkhole and never cleaned, and the toilet leaked and smelled of sewerage. There was a problem with their hot water boiler so hot water was either not available or limited. Soap and shampoo were provided in large bottles and refilled but either diluted and the exterior of the bottles had lots of grime. The futons were very damp and smelled strongly and the sheets had stains. Even our Japanese friends who were staying next door complained about the hygiene and cleanliness levels. The inns public bath is the redeeming quality, we literally took all our baths in there because of the poor condition of our toilet. The price is as high as a star hotel, but the experience needs improvement.

I have been to Japan and have seen so many ruins, so I didnt like it, just like the time I came here. The condition of the room is good, so I have to wait a long time to see it. I dont expect much from the facilities, even though I told them that they will take good care to clean this room with a good cleaning service. The women who run this place are very helpful even if they only speak a little English, but they really try to make you feel like family. They have done their best to make sure we get a good stay because it was pricey. They gave us several inquiries about the temple we had spotted, so the staff member asked if we had seen it, and the staff just asked us if we had seen it too, so he turned around and drove us back up the mountain so we could see it. He even paid our entry fee! Then he gave us a brief tour of the place and history, and waited patiently while we explored and took pictures, they were so accommodating! I still thought the baths were very nice, but when the room became very warm at night, I tried to enter the bathroom again and couldn't even get in. The free sake in the barrel in the baths was a lovely touch. It is partly my fault, as I dont enjoy breakfast that is westernstyle. The bath was not

This hotel has a lovely, comfortable and clean room with a private bathroom. The views of Yashino Mountains are very breathtaking. There's a great japanese cuisine served in the large banquet room.

it is a lovely ryokan, run by lovely people who are more than happy to go out of their way to accommodate peoples' needs. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the food, (if you are keen on traditional Japanese fish courses) is devine. But it is just not worth the price tag - they also need more clarity in their advertising regarding their onsen (hot spring) and whether the room you are booking includes on or not. Honestly, we would not have booked this ryokan had we known our room (that was more expensive than 4 nights accommodation in Osaka combined) did not contain a private onsen, we would not have booked it, so be wary regarding that - but we cannot fault the stay itself, maybe they just need to cheapen the deal...
