Gedda eco cottages is an excellent place for those who want to get away from the masses of selfiestick addicts and semi drunk hipsters who are surfing for the first time in Hikkaduwa. This location is highly recommended if you want to experience the genuine sri lanka countryside lifestyle, culture, and nature. A good bungalow with a great river view. The friendly and fun gentlemen cooked our entire stay with ease and pleasure. The owner is kind, chill, and has a great driver. We took a tutu to explore a temple in the area, which was equally stunning as the natural surroundings. Although slightly removed from Sinharaja Rain Forest, the location is definitely worth exploring. The next time I visit Sri lanka, Ill undoubtedly return.4.6/56 Jan 2023

I will most certainly return. It was our best experience so far in Sri Lanka! The cottage is in the middle of the jungle and offers the most peaceful view of the river. The accommodation is cozy, and the food and advice from the final are the best, I already miss him. Be aware that Maharaja Rain Forest is an hour away but the location is already very green and the air feels so pure. We canceled the excursion because we felt really comfortable already there, but we took another short short trip to a lovely temple on a hill closer.4.6/510 May 2022

This place is a little bit of paradise, a beautifully built cottage with a terrace and hammock next to the river, the entire cottage is constructed from local wood. A very comfortable bed and a perfectly designed room. In the middle of the jungle. delicious homey food. Beautiful pool in the river. Lovely host and manager Cook, perfect!.4.4/515 Jul 2023

The place is very relaxing, comfortable, and final, and the guy taking care of the place is very friendly and welcoming. The food is very good. The only worry is that you really need to negotiate with the host to arrange transportation, even though they say that picking and dropping off is free.4.2/511 Dec 2022

We chose this accommodation as our departure to visit the Singaraja rain forest reserve. Sadly, the cottages are quite a distance from the reserve, and according to the proprietor, the only way to get there is to book a pricey excursion through him. We were charged $ app for an ex-car and a terrifying driver, when we already had a driver that could have driven us to the reserve for the majority of the trip and then taken a bath for the last portion, which we had to do in spite of having taken the ex. The accommodation was nice but not fantastic, as other reviewers have mentioned. The air conditioner was too chilly and difficult to control. The bed was large but not fully covered with suitable linens. We requested and received an extra sheet, but it was small for a child and didn't cover even one adult. The cottage's bathroom is attached to it, but accessing it can be difficult at night. Although the deck does not have a guardrail on the river side, the view from the riverfront is excellent, so you have to be cautious where you go. The most disappointing part was the fact that we weren't fully aware that there were only two cottages here. The owner did not give us any orientation when we got there, so there was a sense that we were not completely conversing about how to use the cottage, for instance, what thePopular Facilities
