Overall, this was a great experience to stay at this beautiful property. The location is also great. The hotel staff is very friendly and the room size is reasonable and the food is fantastic.

Toted as being one of the most remote hotels in SL the hotel did not disappoint. Fabulous location and well run for such a remote site. You certainly got a sense of the rainforest by the time you got there. Our container was comfortable and the bar and dinning rooms spacious. As vegetarians we were a little bored with curry and rice yet again but it was nice not to have to face another buffet dinner as dinner was served to you. My only qualm was that it took an hour 15 mins to cover the final 8.8km in a normal (sedan) car which really isn’t suitable for such a narrow and precipitous drive up. I emailed the hotel through their contact form a few days earlier to see if we cld arrange a Jeep transfer but got no response. Our driver phoned the day before and was told no such facility was available and the drive up wld be fine. It wasn’t and it was stressful. We got out of the car twice as it failed to gain traction on loose stones. And then on arrival found out there was a jeep facility. So my advice or to check this option out when booking. Despite this we enjoyed our stay once we regained our composure!

Amazing experience in this first class eco-lodge. Rooms are in the forest and the view is amazing! The change of scenery is guaranteed and the staff is wonderful! Very interesting walks in the rainforest are organised!

Highly recommended. Totally worth it to stay in this place. I can't wait to return to this stunning location. This place is a fantastic place to stay surrounded by nature. It's incredibly soothing to wake up to the sound of exotic birds chirping and to walk to the dining area for breakfast through the tea trees and natural rock. The food is offered at 1100 and has a good selection. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey through the Sinharaja forest, listening to the wonderful guide explaining the rare trees, insects, and animals on the journey. The waterfall, where you get free fish treatment, is the icing on the cake. The view is like something out of the heavens.

My two nights in the low season and during the economic crisis were the sole guests along with my guide, and I sincerely hope that this crisis will go away quickly and that more tourists will return to this amazing location. I highly recommend this location for birdwatchers, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a lovely, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing getaway. I've never seen such a stunning lodge in the midst of a national park, in such a scenic location! The cabins and the major structure both offer breathtaking views. In my experience, the surrounding forest is excellent for wildlife watching and birdwatching because, particularly from my balcony, I saw many birds, geckos, and monkeys that are unique to Sri Lanka. I was able to go to the forest at night to witness an incredible frog concert, and the staff was really helpful, the food was excellent, and the cabins were elegant, well-designed, and spotless. I was the only guest, along with my guide, during the low season and during the economic crisis. I sincerely hope that this crisis will be resolved quickly, and more people will return to this incredible location.

We had the greatest time viewing wildlife at this location during our trip. We are alive with wonderful images and memories from our time here. I wished they had told us that our touring vehicle, not a wheel drive, was not appropriate for the uphill climb. I wasn't certain we would make it. We weren't prepared at all, but I didn't. The trip up the mountain to this location was undoubtedly hard, and I did wish they had informed us that our touring vehicle, not a wheel drive, was not appropriate for up the mountain. In fact, our guide was sent back down the slope with our vehicle and after a two night stay, we were eventually taken to the bottom using an ecolodage vehicle because our vehicle wasn't appropriate for the steep slope or the slippery bumpy rocky roads. But it all went well. Here was excellent wildlife viewing. It was fantastic, from the jay that perched on our patio railing to the hike to the waterfall to the night walk. It was pleasing to learn that lords nestled deep in the soil at night genuinely just saw its eyes shining back at us, and it was nice to find that they are in these forests. There was a lot of wildlife to be seen on the way to the waterfall, and the fish sneezing on our toes was very ticklish and more than my feet

We went there on our family trip and were overjoyed. The hotel staff was the friendliest and most welcoming people ever. They were very attentive to our needs and tried to provide us with the best service possible. They made us feel at home. The meals were also extra ordinary. Rice curry, Sri Lankan food, and Western food were all available and all of it was so tasty. Food was tailored to Sri Lankan taste with a modern touch. Hats off to the chef! The rooms are made from container boxes and the experience was good. The rooms were clean, clean, and comfortable. There were several forest trekking packages provided by the hotel. A guide was provided from the hotel and he gave us a very good trekking experience. He didn't rush us, and it was a peaceful and comfortable trek. We are extremely happy with our stay at the rainforest ecology. We will definitely go there again!.

Everything is nice about the stay except at check-out when I was asked to pay for the rooms I had already paid. Even showing the receipt did not help. They process delayed our departure by another 30 minutes. I checked my bank statement and was indeed charged for the first time when I made the booking. Then I received statement that Ecolodge's bill came. I had to write to both hotels.com and Ecolodge about it. It is inconvenient to say the least.

The concept of this Eco-Lodge is great - converted shipping containers set in the rainforest with wildlife immediately outside. It is a real shame though that we don't have much positive things to say...... In general the hotel takes advantage of the fact that you are so isolated - the half board option is almost completely necessary but very over priced and includes no drinks whatsoever - not even water. The treks around the rainforest are ok - but you aren't able to go without a guide and the hotel runs these only twice a day.....they also tried to charge us $10USD per person for a 20 min walk down to the waterfall. The staff are all pleasant enough and it is not really their fault that it is managed more like a school camp than a high end eco-lodge - which the price per room suggests that it is. Other than the walks there is literally nothing to do - they suggest that playing any sort of music in the bar will disturb the animals - I think the animals are as bored as the people staying there because as soon as they did hear some music they were out in force!! The food itself is quite nice and well prepared but there is just no choices.
