Banana room was comfortable, quiet, and on the first floor. Real close to center of town. Walk to anything in Waimea.

I can't say enough about the service that the manager of this property gave me during my stay. I made the reservation through VRBO and VRBO never sent my payment or reservation to the manager of the property. Which meant when I arrived, my original place was booked already. The manager went completely out of his way to make sure I had a place to stay. I have been traveling to Hawaii for work for many years and I have never had someone be so accommodating when the mistake was clearly not theirs. Definitely much aloha was given to me during my stay.

We had a little trouble finding the office when it was time to check in. Even so, they were quite friendly and helpful. Maybe a better sign by the road? The proximity to the main street was a bit too close, because we heard some sirens and exuberant people late at night. Even so, it was quiet after a while and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable. We know roosters are part of the entire island's soundtrack! The local "morning chorus" bird song was delightful.

We enjoyed staying in central Waimea, close to the beach, far from most tourists on the island. The AC was noisy and the furniture a bit old, yet the place had charm, with a lovely porch to drink a beer, and close to the pier for stargazing.

Loved this hotel! Such a cute old home! The price is great and the room is HUGE with a separate living room area and bathroom! The staff was amazing and made us feel super welcome. The beach is right down the street, and is nice for walking on. The water is murky so I don't recommend swimming there.

We stayed at Inn Waimea, a quaint four-room hotel in the center of Waimea. The staff was fantastic, helping us above and beyond duty with a car rental issue we had. The hotel is old, but nice, and close to the water, shops, and restaurants. The porch was a great place to meet other travelers.

Location was convenient, lots of great places to eat. AC and free parking was nice. However the tub wasn't as clean as I expected it. Some of the pictures don't really give a good representation of the room. For example, the finish in the tub was coming off, many scratches, and the bottom didn't really look at that appealing. The jets and plastic are all yellowed and old looking. The stopper leaked and water drained rather quickly. Ipushed a wash cloth no top of it to try and help slow the draining, then I turned on the jets and it sucked the cloth up to the intake strainer. When I pulled the cloth off it was very dirty like the strainer/intake hasn't been cleaned. The shower head sort of just spit water out yet other faucets had great pressure. Several of the jets on the shower head didn't work at all and there was hard water build up. You sort of have to lean toward the shower head to wash off, but the back of the tub is curveted and it's sort of awkward to lean in. You can also see where the tile grout was turning black and cracking from continued exposure to water because of the way the head dribbles water everywhere. The metal faucet to fill the tub had water spots and hard water build up on it like it's hasn't really been wiped down or cleaned lately. You can't see this stuff from the pics. Certainly a let down on our honeymoon. The tub leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. Staff was super nice though and check in/out was very easy.

Travelers to southern Kauai should avoid the Waimea Inn at all costs. In short, the inn is dilapidated and uncomfortable while the staff seems disinterested in actually serving its patrons. Our first complaint was with the mattress. When booking the bamboo suite through Expedia, a queen mattress is promised to guests. A standard queen measures 60 inches. This bed falls well short is likely a full sized bed. Calling it a queen is simply dishonest. Additionally, while air conditioning is promised, it is only provided in the bedroom, not the sitting room with the tv (never mentioned in the listing). As for the decor, the pictures are so flattering as to be disingenuous. The bamboo room looks far more dated than the photos on the website. We also found the room had an ant problem as they got into groceries we left in the room for only a few hours. Sleeping in is very difficult as the curtains do nothing to either block sunlight or provide privacy. When I complained and showed the staff pictures of the room in which it has real curtains they gave me two old and dirty curtains from the closet and told me to hang them myself. Finally, if you are looking for help from the staff there is only someone available at the front desk from 8am until 5pm. If you have a concern after that you will be told to not call them unless it's an emergency. Anything else they simply can't be bothered too address until it's more convenient for them. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

It's a fire hazard ready to be burned down. Building should be condemned.

Terrible experience: (1) AC not quite working on a hot summer day; (2) room is dirty and smells bad; (3) housekeeping is horrible in which they took the personal items belong to guest; (4) the reception only work until 5pm and makes you feel inconvenient and unsafe.
