I went during the weekend when Sport Lisbon played Benfica ith May and their result helped Fi Porto win the championship. Andre, the hostel's owner, was incredibly friendly, nice, and also assisted me in watching the game in the reception area by displaying it on the wall. Since his team was losing the leading place in the championship, I was extremely pleased to be able to watch the game and mock him at the same time. He has a sense of humor, so I volunteered to do so. He was very good and precise with his recommendations the beach in Villa nova de Gain was wood. The hostel itself might have a few minor renovations here and there, but it was okay and the location was also very good. From the bus stop, it was simple to get there. There are numerous stores in the street around the hostel with items you can buy. In conclusion, I firmly endorse it.

I stayed in a single room with a private shower and sink at my students hostel for a week, but the toilet was shared. There was also kitchen services on my floor, fridge, cooker, microwave, and a small dining room. The room was adequate, but because it was in the front, it was very noisy, even with the window closed. No towels are provided, but you can hire one for the week for 2 euros. The room is not cleaned during your stay, so it's up to you to make your bed, keep it tidy, empty the trash etc. There are notices around the hostel asking you to keep shower to five minutes max to avoid using all the hot water I managed to have a warm shower every day I stayed! The reception has an air football game that is really loud, plus there are dorms throughout the hostel, so people come and go throughout the day and night, often talking and laughing loudly, not the hostel's fault, but just sharing my experience. If you're a light sleeper, this isn't the place for you. On the plus side, it's relatively near to the center, about 710 minutes walk uphill from Bolvar metro station. Kitchen facilities are quite handy. The staff is enough and friendly. And it's very cheap for a single room compared to everywhere else I looked.

I made a reservation at this hostel using my flight booking website from ryanairs. I reserved a female room room. When I arrived at the hostel, the room was full, one girl was supposed to switch to a mixed room, but she forgot and she was not there when I arrived. She was also in the bed and in the locker. She provided me with the key after the receptionist Kevin, a very kind guy, picked up her belongings from the locker. So I left my belongings there and went exploring the city. The woman was in my bed when I got there around 100 am and the front desk was closed. We attempted to contact them by phone but they didn't answer. So the girl mistakenly allowed me to remain in the bed. But, she slept on a couch in the apartment. She needed medicine from the locker, but she was unable to find her belongings. It was a terrible moment. There are only two bathrooms in the hostel, for approximately 20 people.

The hostel looks vintage and outdated outside, but inside it is well decorated with nice bunk beds and bathroom. The staff are helpful and have a huge common area downstairs where people can socialize. You will find a shared kitchen with all the necessary kitchenware and a fridge to store your food. Great location near Bolvar and the center of Porto, with a number of shops and restaurants nearby. The one drawback is the limited supply of hot water, but plan ahead and youll be fine.
