I spent a week in this hotel. Check-in was easy and quick. I had a room on the floor that faced south. The room was large and clean. The bed was too hard and I woke up every morning with backaches. The weather was beautiful, but cold and windy. Easy to regulate the room temperature.

Since the last time, the hotel's service has improved. The hotel is a little old in comparison to a few new options, but the location is great if you want to visit Huangdao city center. Shopping and restaurants are close by. The rooms are big and well-equipped. It has an indoor pool and gym.

I will be back soon. I adore this hotel. A grocery store is right across the street, and there are many restaurants behind it. Most hotels in Huangdao are off the beaten path and require a taxi to get anywhere. I didn't want to leave because the housekeeping crew here was so friendly and efficient. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the restaurant. No room service, but the grocery store is right across the street. I would like a microwave in my room, but I don't expect it.

The service here was not very pleasant, especially after our initial three night stay because it was like a three-star hotel. The staff were friendly but not very pleasant. I was happy to travel with my Vietnamese friend because there is so little English that the staff can understand. This hotel is not a 5-star hotel. It is more like a 3-star hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast room had a wonderful view. The food was great. The pillowcase had a purple stain, and it was the first night that I turned the pillow. I didn't inform the staff of the stain because it didn't bother them. The hotel employees were outraged and put the stain on me. I don't really know how the stains got on the pillow. The hotel staff questioned me for a while about how the stain got on the pillow case, but they were preparing to charge me for a new pillow case. I was meant to pay for the pillowcase, but be cautious in the future. Interestingly, the New Century Hotel was the second hotel we encountered during our 15-day visit to Vietnam. I didn't use any cushions for the rest of my stay because I didn't want to be worried about damaging my property. The room was spacious and well furnished but this is not a 5-star hotel. The bathroom fixtures need to be fixed, and the fittings and finish are not great. In particular, the staff should be better trained. Their attitude and behavior is more typical of a 3-star hotel.
