The only good thing about this place is that it is situated, has working air conditioning and is free water. We stayed here on the recommendation of our travel book and the positive reviews on the internet. What a huge mistake. First, they made us pay in full for the entire two-night stay up front. This is probably because when people see their rooms, they run away and want their money back. This is what we did. After about 20 minutes, we left and checked into a hotel for about the same price as we paid here. We got a lot more value for the new accommodations. Our mango room was an interior room with a private bath. It smells bad and old. The linens were stained. Around the whole floor, 20-year-old backpackers passed out on couches who were also stained. We are in our mid-is and don't mind staying in modest accommodations, but this place is misleading. We stayed at other Hostels in Ecuador which were great. This place calls itself a hostel despite what mango says in replies to this place. The rooms are way overpriced compared to what we paid elsewhere in the country and in Guayaquil itself. The wifi was practically nonexistent and could not load a basic website within 5 minutes. A banana and white bread are the complimentary breakfast. Anything more requires payment. I will not hesitate to come here again. The service here was just as good as the one in the photo. After arriving here, I was greeted by a friendly staff. I was also able to rest comfortably while looking out from my balcony. The rooms and bathrooms are outdated and unclean. The shower is a little bathroom and the metal soap holder that sticks out scratched my arm.

The room was clean and the shared bathroom was very close to the room. The air conditioner was a bit noisy the reception staff was very helpful in restaurant recommendations and taxi booking. They even called our next hotel in Peru and helped us arrange airport pickup there.
