Being at this hostel was a joy. So many ecologically sound details had been carefully considered. Low water use, solar roof, lovely trees and plants screened, reminders to use the stairs, timed showers and faucets. All of that thought in a spotless environment with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was also excellent. We had one noisy Saturday night, and then for our next two nights it was really quiet. The vicinity is a bit disinteresting at night, so we used the metro until we were nearer and then took a taxi to the door. It is satisfactory at night. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Paris right now because this place puts the planet above money. It is reasonably priced, making it convenient for families and those on modest incomes. I hope all hostels and hotels would follow this model. Jules, 59.

My friend and I stayed here for one night before taking the eurostar train in the early morning. The 15 minute walk to the station makes this ideal, and the included breakfast began at the early hour, which was convenient. Breakfast was limited, but it was to be expected. The breakfast staff was somewhat rude and refused my friend a second glass of orange juice, which seemed unreasonable. However, the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful, especially the lovely lady at the front desk, who helped us practice our French. The rooms were clean and very spacious! The shower and toilet were of excellent quality. Although the neighborhood is nice, it is about an hour and a half walk to the Eiffel Tower, which is not suitable for those who don't enjoy walking.

Typical for a youth hostel. Our six-bedroom room was ours, which was nice because we had it reserved in midjuly for the shower to get it out of it. Breakfast decent, and general cleanliness is adequate. During our stay in the weather, both days I was worried about, but the room was kept a nice temperature throughout, with air conditioning downstairs. There is a room for luggage checking, with lockers two down below. Rooms 300 need to be checked in on time, lockers in rooms are not very secure. At night, it's slightly noisy, but there are no problems with white noise headphones. It felt like a dark neighborhood to walk through as two young girls passing through, especially with men gathered outside, but we were careful and faced no actual issues throughout, and there were numerous small boulangeries and Montmartresacre cur just 20 minutes away, which was lovely. It's unfortunate that it was so far from the Eiffel Tower, etc., especially in the heat we stayed in, but normally transportation throughout the city would be much simpler. Overall a decent experience if the youth hostel cannot control the pressure of walking outside of the city. Although a bit filthy and would have been nice to have courier lounge areas, the communal kitchen was functional if there weren't courier lounges, a hostel in Paris was decent.
