It was one of the most charming and welcoming stops on our day trip around iceland. As we drove down the access road off the highway, we saw a round of icelandic of course horses being herded from one field to another what a thrilling sight. A couple of farm dogs gave us a warm welcome. While basic, the room included a very comfortable bed and shower with unlimited hot water, which was a bonus in my book, but not uncommon in iceland. The hostess couldn't have been more accommodating, telling us how to use the hot tub on the deck. The communal area had a lot of guides, photographs and history books. Breakfast was ample, delicious, and varied. We did not have the optional supper, but our fellow visitors seemed to enjoy it very much. really appreciate free wifi.

Overall, I would drop it out of the 6 similarly priced locations we've stayed at. Excellent standard breakfast with cooking facilities. Visited during the summer when it's light until very late and the sun rises early. The curtains blocked a little light as they were almost seethrough. An easy remedy. The hot tub was not maintained. It was a bit green and had an unpleasant order. Finally, when breakfast was served well before check out time, the staff opened our room as well as other rooms and left the doors open. I had my camera, wallet, and other belongings out. There was excellent wifi in the common area, but there was no sign indicating it was there and we assumed there wasnt, as when we checked into our room using our devices, there was no wifi visible.

We only stayed one night at the Ivandal hotel. Very quiet, if you need a break, this is the place to stay. The rooms are very clean, more autistic and not overly decorated. This is a working farm, so no fancy equipment. But a very nice outdoor jacuzzi. We had dinner and they served a lovely traditionally icelandic dish plotfiskur, a fish stew that was very well made. Breakfast was as usual at an iceland guesthouse, nothing special, but ok. I want to especially mention Ein and Jon's hospitality. Our friend forgot her shoes, and they immediately sent them to her. Excellent service. Performance in terms of price is very good, iceland is a pricey country, and we had other places where we played more for less value.

The mountains were fantastic, and we cherished passing the sheep grazing as we passed by. The negative evaluations, on the other hand, should not be applied. In northern iceland, this is a fantastic option! Let me begin by stating how much we enjoyed this location. The negative reviews stem primarily from guest bias. For instance, understanding that the house is on a gravel road takes two minutes to research. Dont blame the hosts for your own ignorance. Even though the dirt road is only open at 8 a.m., the drive is really stunning. We enjoyed the farms sheep and horses. After a lengthy day, the jacuzzi was a fantastic getaway. Even though I locked myself out of the house, the hosts were very welcoming and kind. Do not attempt to wait based on the negative reviews. No home is perfect, but this house was a lovely stay with a beautiful scenery that is off the beaten path. We loved driving into and out of the neighborhood road because my young children enjoyed it.
