This is one of these ratings do not cover enough ground reviews, another than the calm amenities at hotel yamato ranged from disappointing to average, but our experience was stellar. So, if youre looking for a western fourstar facility.. forgetaboutit. The rooms were charming, but renovations are long overdue. The common areas too, smacked of decades of inattention. All serviceable but aging and showing signs of wear. But if we wanted a hiltonlike experience we wouldnt have chosen Hotel yamato. Instead, we wanted an authentic middleclass Italian holiday experience that friends and family have been returning to for generations. A place where staff hug clients, the owner welcomes and earnestly inquires about you, the dining room is led by an old pro whole cooks your eggs if necessary. Other things you should know, the beach is close, Upper Peschici is easy, there is a market across the street, and the cappuccinos are pretty damn good.

I came here with my son six years ago and came back with my love. Great family run hotel that's close to the sea and only has a 5 minute walk. Shuttle service is available to the city center. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Lots of kid's activities and spa facilities. Shuttle service to the local train station. Hotel is kept clean and the shuttle driver is very helpful. Good to see some of the same employees still there.

This hotel is in a good location and close to the beach. The hotel itself is outdated and needs some refurbishment. Pool area is ok. Average rooms and bathrooms, but again need some remodeling. We do not recommend this hotel.

If you don't like the is, it's a little out of date and ancient. This is more eastern europe or the very nice pool area, but occasionally they play music very loudly around the pool, so loud we had to leave. 18 rooms are also located adjacent to the pool. I assumed they served yesterdays bread at breakfast, otherwise an adequate breakfast, the room was a good size, the ac performed wonderfully, and the room was properly cleaned. In the evening, they also played music in the garden, which was supposed to be for the benefit of the guests, but there were mainly only two or three guests dancing and six to eight employees playing. The idea was that the pool area and garden were there so that the staff could hang out.

The staff were pretty helpful. We stayed for one night and booked three rooms in search of a relaxing place but just couldn't relax. There was no spa. There was one masseuse, though, and while the rooms were tidy, they had to be modernized. There is no wifi in the bedroom. The bathroom was tiny. Everything seemed very basic. Small patio door jammed on tiles. The pool area and other public spaces and facilities were fine but again quite outdated. Quite close to the beach but a real hike to the elevated town. We checked out after one night, three because we booked the hotel looking for a quiet time and couldn't relax. In truth, there was no huge disturbance when we did this. I think the hotel is designed for older Italian groups. Peschici is a charming little area, but it is quite a hike to reach an informal shuttle would be appreciated.
