We stayed here for two nights, and should be an experience for everyone visiting Japan. Great service in an authentic Roman atmosphere. Delicious food and worth the effort. The location is also great because it is far from the heart of Kyoto but close to the train station.4.6/59 Sep 2022

We booked here for our final night in Japan hoping it would be the start of our day trip. I was a little disappointed. I believe part of it was just cultural differences, but some part is simply poor hospitality. Pros The formal dinner was very good and wellpresented there was a thick instruction manual in the room that set some expectations for westerners like us who had no idea what to expect from the roman experience The yukatas provided by the hotel were a nice, cozy and fun touch the futons were very comfortable and we slept well we got a room with a private hot bath and enjoyed that the booking agency we used did not relay our no meat requests for our meals so we had to communicate that later, and they did a fantastic job of adjusting the location is fantastic and very convenient to the main attractions of the Arashiyama region cons we werent really made to feel welcome on arrival but rather were inundated with a number of rules and requests some staff handled the language differences well so they understood our needs and requests before trying to execute, others werent so great about the frequent to constant cigarette smoke, either from adjacent rooms or from the lobby, where it is permitted. The Roman room is not very comfortable to hang out in, and smokers in the lobby also rule out that option. I agree with the other reviewer who said staying here for more than one night may be pushing4.6/531 Jul 2022

Many people enjoy their time in Japan, although the staffs are excellent, hospitable, and always do their best. Even if the price is still quite high, it is still quite fair. Also, the rooms and traditional bed preparation are both very extensive. Plus, this roman has many local foods as well as a spectacular onsenhot spring with breathtaking views.4.0/531 Jan 2023

The place is beautiful and unique, and the service is excellent. The place is beautiful and unique, and the service is excellent. The location is very convenient, right next to the famous Togetsukyo, around the corner 1 minute walk to the entrance of monkey park and the sightseeing boat cruise entrance, across the bridge heaps of small local shops and eateries, henry temple also around 5 minutes walk. We can return to the Roman at any time during our three day stay, enjoy the afternoon onset, and then go sightseeing again, very convenient. Dinner est night is served in kiseki style in the room, many dishes and very tasty, a very special experience and we love it. And night they served us shabu japanese hotpot, it is still good but more simple than est night. The room is very comfortable, the private onset is ideal and can be used anytime. We also rent the outdoor private onset for 40 minutes which costs about 1500 yen, well if you have your private onset in the room, you won't have to spend more money, and the outdoor onset is a bit larger and maybe because it is around rp, we can't see much outside and it's very cold outside the onset. In the resting area next to the in-house onset, there is free yuzu juice and water,Popular Facilities
