A very comfortable little hostel on a quiet street in takayama. Great communal areas and incredibly helpful owner. Close to some great restaurants (check out jakson curry) and just ten minutes walk to the bus station. The showers were hot and luxurious.

The location is only a minute from the central bus station, but the real selling point of this hostel is the super friendly and helpful owner who helped me get to know everything there is to do, see, eat, and drink in and around takayama and how to get there.

A pleasant place to stay if you want to experience a more traditional japanese house. But my favorite part of the hostel was the staff. Very engaging and fun to hang out with. It made my visit to kawashima even more memorable.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting tayama! We spent two nights in a private double room. Excellent location, immaculate and cozy accommodations. The proprietors were lovely, identifying restaurants and attractions worth seeing in the area.

The shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, facial cleanser, and hair dryer are all available and they are hygienic and practical. I will consider staying here again.

The staff is friendly, the traditional building is well maintained and the beds are spacious. All at a great price. One of the best hostels ive stayed in japan, except for the snoozing guy next to me, but what can you do?.

The hostel is conveniently located near the station, offering easy access to all the main attractions, including sake tasting, fantastic restaurants, and indoor archery. Upon a brief walk, guests can enjoy arrows. I wholeheartedly endorse it. The dorm rooms are clean and spacious, providing ample space for guests. Lovely, accommodating, proficient in english, friendly staff, knowledgeable local knowledge, extremely accommodating and accommodating. It exudes realism in its authentic japanese atmosphere, making it superior to other hostels in the area. Many thanks for the wonderful stay!.

Its a lovely old japanese house that is conveniently close to the train station. The staff members are young and friendly, but their english is poor. Particularly the toilet, the house wasnt very clean. We spent one night in shirakawago after our stay, and we returned later. There were too many bags in the hostel, so they couldnt let us leave our luggage there.

The family that runs this place is very warm and friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy in a great location. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the taiyama area.

We had to change our plans after making a quick reservation at guesthouse tomaru. We werent expecting much because we only needed sytay for the night. Fortunately, we were fortunate to choose to maru with tomau as our home base. The proprietor explained everything in logical and easy language in an appealing and straightforward manner. You have everything you need to stay here. In comparison to all the other hotels weve stayed in, the accommodations were quite charming and characterfilled. When compared to any of the previous hotels where we have remained, all facilities offered, including shampoo and conditioner, are of high quality! I neglected to inquire about the brands of both shampoo or conditioner! Her skin was smooth as silk thanks to it! On top of that, he even provided us with reserving map showing all of its attractions, which i suggested we use. And despite this, his advice was not incorrect! With all these crucial information, what accomodating our stay in tabayama is incredibly wonderful. I couldnt express my gratitude enough to him and the three hot warmers that allowed us to warm ourselves when we arrived there. Without if five stars, surely!.

This hostel is highly recommended. I had a great time here. It was incredibly convenient to walk towards the bus station and train station! It took about 10 to 15 minutes to get to the old town, but it was rather simple. Aya and mizuki, the front desk employees, were amiable and welcoming. Despite being an antique structure with modern amenities, every room in the hostel was immaculate, roomy, and wellmaintained. Even though it wasnt my favorite place to stay during my oneweek trip to japan, this location may have been my favourite spot. They even offered savored bottled beverages at their sister hostel! (which we were glad we visited because it served as if it were such i had fun in chatting around in our cafe. There is only one bathroom, which is albeit spacious, yet it didnt matter because we went to otoko for the authentic jakan experience.
