According to Kyoto city regulations, a lodging tax has been introduced for stays after October 1, 2018. You will be required to pay the lodging tax based on rates explained below.
[For stays until February 28, 2026]
Accommodation fee (per person per night, excluding consumption tax):
Less than ¥19,999: ¥200
¥20,000 – ¥49,999: ¥500
¥50,000 or more: ¥1,000
[For stays from March 1, 2026 onward]
Accommodation fee (per person per night, excluding consumption tax):
Less than ¥6,000: ¥200
¥6,000 – ¥19,999: ¥400
¥20,000 – ¥49,999: ¥1,000
¥50,000 – ¥99,999: ¥4,000
¥100,000 or more: ¥10,000
The accommodation fee does not include the lodging tax, and payment will be requested upon check-in.
As of 1 March 2026, changed local tax regulations require guests to pay accommodation tax at updated rates, which will be collected separately by the property during the check-in process. The tax is determined by the room rate and is charged per person, per night, as follows: 

【Accommodation tax through 28 February 2026】  
For room rates less than JPY 20,000: JPY 200   
For room rates from JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 500   
For room rates of JPY 50,000 or more: JPY 1,000  

【Accommodation tax from 1 March 2026, onwards】  
For room rates less than JPY 6,000: JPY 200   
For room rates from JPY 6,000 to less than JPY 20,000: JPY 400  
For room rates from JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 1,000   
For room rates from JPY 50,000 to less than JPY 100,000: JPY 4,000 
For room rates of JPY 100,000 or more: JPY 10,000   

For the purposes of the accommodation tax, the term “accommodation fee” will refer to the room-only rate, excluding any meal charges and consumption tax.  
Please settle the payment at the hotel upon check-in.
Due to the specifications of the Agoda website, "Adult rates will be applied to guests over 13 years old staying at this facility." may be displayed, but please note that children over 6 years old will be charged adult rates at this facility.
