My wife and I enjoyed our 3-night stay at hotel Taiko. The hotel employees were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is only a short walk to the kumado ski base. The hotel pickup drop off service was great. We gave the hotel our train’s arrival time and the driver met us with a van when the train arrived! No waiting in the cold! We liked how our hotel room was extremely clean. The included breakfast buffet was excellent too. Almost all the hotel staff we spoke to could also speak English. Would definitely recommend Hotel Taiko.

We thought the room was lovely and well sized for Japan. Staff were very friendly and rooms kept very clean. We enjoyed using the onsen, known as one of the best in the areas. We were also very happy with the selection at breakfast each day. We also enjoyed the bar downstairs and the drinks and small bites they had to offer. We would definitely stay here again next time.

I had a fantastic time at Hotel Tako. The best location close to Yoko station. You can go to several townside restaurants, bars, and elevators on foot. Free transport to the station. We were able to make this arrangements via email the morning of our arrival. Rooms are roomy and comfortable. We slept well in a Japanese style room with tatami mats. Lovely living space with stunning views of the room. O make certain the bathroom showerIt is not uncommon for Japanesestyle rooms at other yoko hotels to have a private shower. This was great at first. The inside shower area has a hot pool and an outdoor hot spring, separated by gender. Very spotless. After a day of skiing, it's lovely! Cons of ski rental I paid to rent ski gear as part of the rate of our room. I regret it in retrospect. When we went to the rental shop on the premises, we discovered the equipment to be outdated. Turned out, we borrowed from a different store across the street. O though tidy, stunning, and very comfortable, the hotel feels a bit dated carpet looks old, and the room has a rotary phone. Overall, we had a great time at Hotel Tako. We would definitely return!.

This hotel is 10 minutes drive from Myokokogen station, it's best to call them when your train arrives and their shuttle will pick you up. What are the best things about this hotel 1. Beautiful traditional Japanese rooms, large, comfortable, beautiful view, and excellent heating, controlled by the staff, some of whom can speak English. 3. Onset appears to be fantastic, both indoor and outdoor. 4. Free shuttle. 6. Near ski paste. 7. Near restaurants, bars, cafes, groceries, snow equipment rentals, and a Japanese dessert shop 7. Quiet rooms. 8. Good buffet Japanese and Western drawbacks. Too many young people hanging around the lobby, very busy start, hallways look outdated, wifi was either slow or not working.

Great value for the money and easy access to the ski area. Beautiful start with amazing views and fantastic massage chairs. Good size room with Japanese style sleeping, good bar and you were the best cook and bar staff we could want.

This location is in a great location. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is great! The outdoor onset is fantastic! But overpriced for what it is! Tax and onset prices are not included in the booking price.

We had no idea what to anticipate since the hotel was replaced after our original property reservation was cancelled. There was a huge, beautiful room with a breathtaking view. It was great at first, but it was also occasionally busy. One night, we frequently had a private room, and there was freshly made Nigiri sushi in the room. Breakfast was a buffet and quite adequate. The staff was friendly and attentive to us. The distance from the snow is the biggest issue for us. Being a little closer would have made life much simpler.

THE HOTEL WAS VERY NICE AND CLEAN. IT WAS ALSO QUITE HANDY TO RESTAURANTS, SKI FIELDS AND ENTERTAINMENT. STAFF WERE PLESENT AND VERY HELPFUL. THE HOTEL IS A LITTLE OLDER NOW. THE MAIN ATTRACTION IS THE ONSEND.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The onsen needs a little updating, but overall a good place to stay. Walking distance to Akakura Onsen mountains and many eateries available.

Good hot spring in the hotel and food is also ok. If there are more selections for breakfast, that will be perfect. :)

The room pictures on the booking website do not match room type. The room was not what we expected based on the pictures. The hotel is tired and shows its age in parts. The outdoor onsen was great!

The hotel is quite old. Open onsen bath was closed with no announcement prior to booking, though it was the main reason for us to choose this hotel in the first place. the place is rather dirty, it definitely needs renovation. The food quality was also far from the best.
