Good, but not very memorable. Our twin room with tatami area was very big and luxurious by Japanese standards, and the hotel had some cheap alternatives. However, this is not and does not sell itself as a budget option! Reception is friendly but please be aware that you must pay in cash in advance, as is customary in Japanese hotels. We tried the hot baths, private instead of public and gender segregated, which could be advantageous if you are shy, a couple, or have a tattoo. There is free coffee and a breakfast snack in the morning, but no dinner option or real breakfast.

We have a wonderful time and will come back. When we made our late reservations for our autumn holiday 2017, the hotel we usually stay at on Miyajima was fully booked, but we found space here. We were not let down. The hotel's bosses, the husband and wife? Are friendly and considerate. Our room was fine, though we would have preferred their Japanese-style room because it was all reserved. Although the kotatsu took up a lot of floor space, it provided a warm spot to sit and relax. We had a good night's sleep, and the bed was comfy. A little space was crowded into the tokonoma area, which included the to and teapot. The motion sensor controlled lights were a little cumbersome, and they switched on automatically each time we passed through our entrance hallway. They could be useful as a security feature in the middle of the night, but they would only wake the other person up. The private baths were a delight. We are used to gender-separated baths, but occasionally we find ourselves in hotels with private baths and enjoy the novelty of having baths together. Although the baths are available on a first-come, first-served reservation, we never found them busy when we went to use them during our 3 night stay. A quick breakfast selection of croissants, fruit,

The accommodation is staffed by really nice individuals. It was really comfortable and immaculately clean. The location was great. There is a banquet hall, which is a spacious room with couches, a big to, a library, and all the free coffee you can drink! It was great to interact with other guests there. The owner produces his own wine, which he encourages guests to test for free. Out back, there is also a beautiful rock garden with a racoon dog trail. Breakfast wasn't outstanding, it was just some croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit, apples, and oranges. But the breakfast wasn't included in the price, so it's not a major drawback. Payments for lodging are also only accepted in cash.

I was traveling in Japan and this was presumably my favorite location to stay. It's the ideal blend of a contemporary hotel and a traditional Roman. I believe the couple who run the establishment was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and the room was large. The tori gate and temple were just a 3 minute walk away. It was a unique experience in this small town at night, and I would recommend it to anyone who can afford to stay at least one night. One night is exactly what you need because it is simple to explore the entire village at that time. Just a reminder that it is crucial to take the advice of the proprietors and visit the restaurants they recommend. We walked around for a while and realized that everything was closed and that the only ones were open after rp were those they recommended.

We were met by the hosts who spoke very good English and were polite and very helpful. Our room was exactly as shown in the management photos. Very clean and easy to find. Just 1 street back from Miyajima's main shopping market street. Like many places in Japan, it's only cash, but an international ATM is about a 3 minute walk away. Very enjoyable. The only downside was that we were on the 1st floor and could not get the wifi working.
