my repeated stay at this quiet, eco-friendly, cool hill top hotel , good sun rise view, relaxing stay if you love nature with its creatures :) Must not miss the exciting train ride up the hill though the waiting time to clear the train queue up the hill is quite long. Alternative is to arrange 4WD transfer with the Bellevue hotel before the trip :)

After a year of pandemic imprisonment with an initial lockdown and a prolonged motel shutdown, the ceremony at the Bellevue Hotel, which opened on a hill with the full moon beckoning, was the finest vacation. Social distancing is simple at 800 meters above sea level, and the hotel's back is an expansive panoramic terrace. At 8 a.m., a delicious dinner on Bellevue's signature steamboat of fresh seafood drew the full moon. My senses were restored after a severe concussion due to covid 19, which was aggravated by a broken hip from a nasty fall last August. Fireworks from an adjacent bungalow lit up the sky at 10 a.m. to mark the end of the Chinese lunar new year. But my fantasy had just begun when I stepped out onto the lawn to bask in the constellation of stars above, humbled by its expansive expanse, while Georgetown sparkled like a ray of optimism below. After a hearty breakfast, I went back to the aviary to say hello to my dear old friends, the green parrot and two male peacocks, both of whom were slung high up with feathers hanging up like an elegant emerald evening gown. I began to ascend on my dear hornbill after a heart

The setting is amazing! The rooms are tidy, but the furniture is aged. There are less than 20 rooms on the ground floor in this tiny accommodation. We slept in a room on the ground floor that overlooked the greenery. To be honest, the rooms are simple and basic. Our room rate is a simple English breakfast. The small garden with a breathtaking view of the opening island is what I adore the most about this hotel. It's a wonderful feeling to wake up early in the morning to wait for the sun to rise.

We just went for lunch and didn't stay here, the restaurant was a patio area with a beautiful lawn and spectacular views, which the nice guy at the reception brought us to. There were only 2 other people there, one was reading and the other was painting. We ordered pumpkin soup, fish and chips, a club sandwich, iced lemon tea, and water. Everything was very delicious, and what makes it so beautiful.

We just stopped by for lunch since we did not remain here. We were welcomed by a kind man at the front desk to the restaurant, which was an outdoor space with spectacular views and a beautiful lawn. Only two other visitors were present--one of whom was painting and one reading. We ordered pumpkin soup, fish and chips, club sandwiches, iced lemon tea, and water. Everything was really yummy, probably due to the wonderful view.

After trying to navigate the crowds of people who were milling around the Funicula top station area unintentionally taking numerous selfies on the first hill, strolling into the Bellevue hotel for a tea and lunch is such a relief. Its so wonderful that the majority of Asian visitors are not drawn to the quaint colonial ambiance, leaving the bellevue garden deck, which overlooks the world far below, to a few individuals who appreciate the picturesque scene. We had sweet and sour chicken and curry chicken for lunch, both of which were tasty. Even a little vague, the service was excellent in that regard, and we were quite pleased with it. The samosas were also excellent. My only complaint was that they, like all other hotels in Asia, both grand or modest, have relied on teabagonly tea. What has happened to the wonderful old asian tradition of enjoying a tasty cup of Indian tea? Tea bags have terrible tastes. Please have loose leaf tea in case you are intolerable tea. The cost was reasonable, and I could have remained there longer enjoying the scenery. A management recommendation is that you have overdone the flag issue. You had only had two or three flags when we were there in 2013, and you can nowt see out from any angle without those silly things flapping in your vision. They are not compatible with

Breathtaking view of Penang from the hotel's private garden. The room is pretty basic but enough for a good night sleep.

We celebrated our tenth anniversary on Penang Hill. Bellevue is old but kept in good condition. It is priced a little high for the amenities it offers, but we found the beauty, the view, the location worth it! There is nothing fancy about it but it was sufficient for us. After an online error had put us in the wrong kind of room, they upgraded us for free. Food was pricey but good, and there are many cheaper options nearby. Hiking was great! Garden and surroundings beautiful.

Beautiful scenery at the backyard of the hotel, good site to catch the sunrise. Delicious foods at the café albeit limited choice. Heard noises around the room during a midnight storm when strong winds blew against some loose structures. Promised free buggy transfer of baggage from the Police station to hotel rejected by the counter staff when checked in but provided during checkout.

The date I booked the hotel was unfortunately was the cable car under maintenance. Called to the hotel no 1 answering the phone. At last get a number from expedia and called, 1 person which was no longer working at the hotel answer and he was so nice provide the PIC contact Ms Parvathy. Called to this lady informed that we we booked the hotel and 1 night at the Bellevue and now the cable car was under maintenance not working. I asked how could we go up the Penang hill. Then she said can arrange the 4 wheel car for us to go up. No issue, we get our way up to the hill. Then arrived at the hotel . there is no 1 working there. As understand the hotel was closed. I was so shocked. why the Ms Parvathy never informed us so that we no need come up all the way. Then there was a guy who is in charge of the buggee transport help us to contact the hotel PIC. Then he arranged the room for us to stay. He also very kind to help to arrange our dinner for that night because due to the cable car was not service no stall was open during that time. The hotel is good however the service from Ms Parvarthy is super bad. Why they did not informed us out front that the hotel is closed open during our booking date. She even never bother to informed the person at the hotel that there was guest coming to stay after we called her. I am very disappointed to the service of the hotel.
