What a great place to stay on Perhentian island (Greater)! A real gem. Location is perfect with 3 beaches in walking distance (one right next to the accommodation). We stayed in a seafront view family room and it was amazing waking up to the beautiful view. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfy beds, plenty of pillows, fridge, AC, a big fan on the ceiling. Big screen tv is connected to wifi so we were able to watch some of our favourite programs before bed. Spacious balcony - stepping out of it -> stepping into the restaurant. Staff are super helpful, professional, friendly. We strongly recommend this place. We would definitely come back if we come to East Malaysia again.

Die Perhentian Islands, vorallem die Insel Besar ist wunderschön und besitzt einen der schönsten Strände die ich kenne. Die Unterkunft hat allen Erwartungen entsprochen und kann von mir nur weiterempfohlen werden, ich würde und werde selbst noch einmal dorthin zurückkommen. Der Strand vor der Barat ist zum schwimmen ok aber um am Strand zu chillen und den schöneren Strand zu nutzen läuft man 5-10 Minten nach Norden, dort ist der oben erwähnte herrliche Strand zu finden. Das Resort bietet gutes Essen.

Nous avons séjourné dans un chalet simple au Barat. Le personnel était extrêmement serviable. Plusieurs autres hôtels avec leurs restaurants sont situés à proximité, notamment le Mama's Restaurant, qui est excellent. Cependant, le ponton n'est pas très pratique, donc il vaut mieux éviter de venir avec de grosses valises.

Wowza! This was one of the best 5 day asian island resort experiences we've had on our travels. The resort has gone through a full refurbishment in the last couple of years, so we were delighted to see that most of the negative feedback has been listened too and actioned. Do not hesitate to book. All the staff - reception, restaurant, cleaners, concierge, footmen and management - are so friendly, helpful and enjoy a sense of fun, whilst all being totally professional. Our room was clean fresh with clean linens and towels. Sometime it takes an issue to truely rate an experience and we were absoultely blown away at the attentiveness and resolution. It turned our experience from 5 star to 6 star. We will definitely be back!!!

Nous avons loué une chambre « deluxe family » et tout était était très bien! Il faut cependant savoir quelques petites choses : Propreté : la chambre était assez propre (ce n’était pas parfait non plus mais cela ne me dérangeait pas forcément), avec un nettoyage quotidien. Les serviettes étaient souvent neuves donc certaines n’essayaient pas très bien. Emplacement : la plage de l’hôtel n’est pas terrible… le sable n’est pas « fin », et la vue donne sur l’île d’en face (au début j’étais un peu déçue de ne pas avoir la mer à perte de vue…) MAIS! À 10 minutes à pied vous trouverez une plage de sable blanc magnifique, eau turquoise, avec un aquarium géant à disposition : tortues, requins de récif, corail vivant, perroquets a bosse… un vrai régal! D’autant plus que cette plage est très souvent à l’abris du vent (donc pas de vague) mais vous avez quand même de l’ombre. Restaurant : le staff est très gentil, souriant, aimable et serviable… la nourriture est très bonne, la musique est sympa, bref : tout est parfait! Vous avez 3 restaurants accessibles à pied depuis le Barat (dont 2 autres moins chers), mais c’est le restaurant de l’hôtel que je vous recommande. Vous trouverez des taxi boats à l’hôtel ainsi qu’un centre de plongée (je vous recommande vivement de plonger avec Neville 😊), et des excursions à la journée (les trips À et B sont à faire!!) J’espère revenir un jour 😊 pour moi cet hôtel était parfait.

Wir waren 8 Nächte im The Barat und waren allein vom Service begeistert! Nicht nur, dass das Personal des Hotels uns überdurchschnittlich engagiert in einer sehr misslichen Situation geholfen hat - auch im Restaurant und an der Rezeption wurde man stets mit einem breiten Lächeln begrüßt. Die Zimmer waren zudem sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Besonders angetan waren wir vom Restaurant. An der BBQ Station konnte man jeden Tag zwischen verschiedenen, fangfrischen Meerestieren wählen. Fantastisch! Besonders abends versprüht das Restaurant einen besonderen Charme. Dass das Hotel über keinen eigenen breiten Strandabschnitt verfügt, macht nichts. Denn so kann man die verschiedenen traumhaften Strände der Insel erkunden (5 min. entfernt liegt das PIR, das über einen tollen Strand verfügt – man kann hier sogar mit Glück Schildkröten erspähen - oder 10 min. entfernt Tuna Bay – ebenfalls ein sehr schöner Strand). Auch bietet das Hotel täglich mind. 2 Schnorchelausflüge an (ca. 3h). Kajaks kann man sich ebenfalls täglich mieten sowie Schnorchelausrüstung. Alles in allem lässt sich sagen, dass sich dieser Ort bestens eignet, um einfach mal die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Besonders, wenn sich der Tag dem Ende zuneigt und man unter dem Blätterdach des The Barats die warmen Strahlen der Abendsonne genießt, bevor man sich im charmanten Restaurant am fangfrischen Fisch erfreut. Immer wieder gerne!
