Nice room right on the beach, especially in the left side. I enjoyed my stay. It is a bit rundown but not too rundown. Because of the town it was not very busy but everything was open. Nice place overall with friendly staff.

The location is good, with a dock for water taxis. When we arrived at Bocas del Toro, a tropical storm hit and a national protest took place. The protests were quite far away and Bocas was not affected but we couldn't drive back home. We reserved this hotel and waited an extra week so that we could go back. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed this place.

Our first day was a mess. There was a heavy downpour before and during our arrival. This turned off some power, and our room smelled musty. We requested a different room, but were told they all probably smelled like that because of humidity and rain. Our room was a neighboring room, and we could hear other visitors at night. The pool was filthy and chilly. We contemplated leaving. Im glad we did. The musty smell disappeared the next day, the pool warmed and cleared up, and we made plans to block noise from the other room. The front desk was extremely helpful, particularly Yvette, who was there each day. She even helped our son with a scrape on his foot. She was a former pediatrician The rooms are worn, but the beds are comfy. The pool is enormous, but it is not used much because people leave during the day. Theres a volleyball court with soccer goals and it was a hit with our son. There is ping pong, and you can use the kayaks. Outside there are plentiful taxis. It is a 5-minute ride into town, and the restaurants north of the hotel are equal in distance. Wifi throughout the hotel is strong, which is a huge plus. Breakfast buffet is good, but lunch and dinner service is slow. Happy hour is adequate. Overall, if your
