A stunning stay. A special mention for the the team in the Writers Bar - sorry I don’t know his name (German gentlemen) so friendly and left us with a gift based on our conversation - it’s memories like this that make people keep coming back to Raffles!!

How fancy is raffles hotel? Well, it’s so fancy that if you’re in the front room, there are no less than 4 doors between you & the toilet! There’s a door between the sitting room & the bedroom, another between the bedroom & the closet area, a bathroom door, then a door to the toilet itself. When my girlfriend said she had to “go powder her nose,” I felt secure. With as much charm as I could muster I sweetly asked her to close all the doors. She shot back a look of cold malice, but with satisfaction, I heard her shut all of the doors. But after a few minutes, to my horror, wafted the most noxious odors. I’m sure my girlfriend won’t mind me, saying this, especially because she never reads these reviews. But if she does, darling, my computer has been hacked again. But seriously, if you’re going to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a hotel room, this is the place!

It’s an amazing hotel and staff were truly excellent!! That said, it’s a bit stuffy and not sure appropriate for anyone below the age 65. I would highly recommend it to anyone, but do keep in mind the rooms have no view, so they feel almost suffocating.

Probably the best hotel we have stayed at. The only problem is the cost of drinks. A manhattan in the Writers bar was $60.00 each and a miniature bottle of gin from the room mini bar was almost $90.00. These are excessive charges and I would not buy any alcoholic beverages at Raffles.

We decided to check out raffles after hearing positive things from previous guests. The great pub atmosphere offers a nostalgic look back to the 19 century decor, although it is a bit pricey. However, given its reputation and the quality of the food and drinks, it is completely acceptable.

From the time we arrived to the time we left it felt like home away from home. The butler service provided was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them Yu(sp?) and Fitrah really did the hotel proud The staff in Raffles Courtyard were lovely gentlemen also, particularly need to give Rai and Suren praise. Nazir who conducted the free historical tour of the hotel was an amazingly knowledgeable gentleman, well worth taking the tour which lasted 2 hrs, and he apologised for over running on time. Raffles is definitely the place to stay and would highly recommend it.

Hotel ini direkomendasikan untuk koktail selempang Singapura yang terkenal. Tentu kita pernah mengalaminya. Sesampainya kami harus mengantri selama 40 menit, segera setelah koktail pertama, panggilan terakhir. Jadi saya langsung memesan Sling baru (tidak ada menu dengan harga apa pun). Saat kami masih minum koktail pertama, bar dibersihkan secara menyeluruh, musik dimatikan dan kami mendapat tagihan: 187 dolar! Cerita dari manajer: ya, orang membayar untuk pengalaman ini. Sedikit pengalaman, banyak uang.

We had our wedding here because it was my wifes dream. Im not sure if this applies to all guests staying at the grand old Dame, but this was our experience. Checkin was well handled and smooth, with bags brought straight to our room. The room was nice enough, but maybe we expected a larger or more fully equipped room given the impression that the raffles hotel only had suites. Maybe that was down to our preconceived notions of what a suite would look like - certainly the room wasnt that much different from some of the other hotel rooms we have stayed in. Nevertheless, the room was very tastefully decorated and clean. We were disappointed with the service when trying to borrow a garment steamer for the suit and wedding gown. Its surprising that a hotel of Raffles standard hosts so many weddings only has one available! Initially, we were told it was unavailable, but after much grumbling on our part, we soon received a call back that we could borrow it but it had to be returned at a certain time. This added stress to a already hectic day on one's wedding! The wedding banquet was well run and hats off to our banquet manager for doing such a good job, although this is not the forum for that. Breakfast was served in the lovely tffin room the next morning. The food was delicious but the local delicacies did not meet our high standards as locals. The kaya toast was limp and soggy, and the dim sum tasted like it came from a school canteen. Checkout and moving our luggage to our car was again a seamless experience. The doorman and bellboy were again so helpful, and we couldnt have asked for more. Overall a decent experience. If it werent for the raffles, i think we would have given this a more glowing review. However, with such a high ranking and reputation, not to mention premium pricing, comes much higher expectations which Raffles has fallen short of.

Colonial luxury, an exceptional experience. From the moment you are welcomed home upon arrival to your departure accompanied by the iconic doorman, it was an unforgettable stay. The personal history tour of the hotel was just another thoughtful event. A destination in its own right, with the bonus of being located in singapore.
