Saw hippos first 5 mins on property. Helicopter ride was awesome. Food was ok but view from restaurant was awesome. 10mins to Kroger gate. 2 minute drive to elephant whisperers. 2 minutes to Perry’s trading post

Hippo Hollow was a excellent hotel. Staff was amazing and provided excellent customer service. We stayed 8 nights and after the first day, they knew what drinks we wanted and other preferences. We stayed in a delectable chalet and the room the beautiful, but the view was the best part. We saw elephant and hippos everyday. Wonderful location, 15 min drive to Kruger. Restaurant was delicious.

We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is beautiful and the room comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service we received was superb. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make matters more pleasant for us. The one lady in the restaurant,Martha, was a star.She quickly noticed that my wife and I were older people (well on our way to our eighties) and she insisted that we remain at our table whilst she dished up for us. She is an asset for the hotel. The security man at the main entrance was also a very helpful and friendly man. We can recommend this establishment to all and everybody. We'll be back

Ótimo Hotel, quarto estilo chalé amplo, era bem limpo e com tudo funcional, o staff do hotel é otimo, o restaurante tem ótimas comidas e a vista é bem legal. Fica bem próximo a um dos portões do Kruger e também a supermercado shoppings restaurantes. Recomendo muito o local

Fantastisk hotel. Vi boede i fire hytter i have-området. Hytterne var pæne og rene, og sengene var gode med hårde madrasser. Restauranten serverer dejlig mad, og vi så flodheste græsse på området omkring restauranten flere aftener. Jeg havde læst hjemmefra, at folk var generet af larm fra busser om morgenen. Vi kunne sagtens høre busserne, men det var ikke forstyrrende for os. Hotellet ligger i fin afstand fra Panorama-ruten (20 minutters kørsel til Graskop og ca. halvanden time til Three Rondavels).

Stayed at Hippo Hollow while exploring Kruger and the Panoramic Route by car. The room was very comfortable, the location was easy to find and convenient, and the food was surprisingly good at the restaurant, especially the breakfast. The hotel does get large tour buses, and we found some of the tour group customers disruptive a few times during our stay, but that was not the fault of the hotel. There really are hippos on the property! There is also a nice gift shop on the premises.

We had a nice stay at the hotel. The rooms are big and comfortable (although a terras would have been welcome). We received by a friendly staff who was waiting for us with keys and with all explanations of the hotel. The service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is OK and the breakfast is good. One point though: we made twice a reservation for the diner, but it never reached the responsible of the restaurant. Not a big deal as there was place enough to accommodate us.

My son were there for one night only. We took advantage of the cultural dinner. The dancing and singing was quite good. The buffet was good as well, with cultural choices such as worms, but also typical food such as salads, chicken, beef and lamb.
