The beachfront is spectacular but this building is getting old. I can tell the property keeps trying to maintain the grounds but they are getting old. Its nice to see the garden again but the actual building sees better days.

Our hotel room arrived this morning, and we noticed yellow-stained bathtub and shower wall, it was not like that. The kitchen and living room floor has several stains. One fine sweep will remove these stains. The floor is made of dusty wood and no shoes. Please bring sandals if you plan to stay here. Furthermore, there are some units without air conditioning. The bungalows are the only units with air conditioning. Given how much I spent to stay here, I expected more offers. The infinity pool was excellent. There is a pool bar with food. But there is no music. This location is a genuine peace and quiet, away from the crowds and everything else. A gas station up the street where you can purchase items needed. While the breakfast was excellent with a lovely view, there is no complimentary breakfast, however the breakfast from the restaurant was excellent with a stunning view. The Hana Ranch restaurant is also across the street from the gas station.

The resorts setting is lovely and peaceful and a welcomed departure from the other side of the island. The cabin offers a unique lodging, kind of like clamping, with lovely partial ocean views. On the downside, the bathroom was pretty terrible and decades overdue for renovation the water pressure is incredible, but the entire bathroom is flood, and the resort should hire a new chef and bartender as the food and drinks were awful. Rollaway beds are more like cots than comfortable rollaway rides at luxury resorts. We received early check-in when we arrived so we could leave our luggage before the pipiwai hike further south, which was quite crowded. Hiked the lava path at Waianapanapa state park before breakfast and in the huge waves at mama beach after, both of which we enjoyed with fewer people around due to the early hours. The resort accommodated us with a late checkout at noon, which was helpful. We had perfect weather with no rain, despite the January thunderstorm forecast. This is given four stars because it is overpriced, but compared to the other overpriced resorts we stayed at, this offered an interesting, less tourist type experience, so in my opinion it was definitely worth it despite the disadvantages! If the bathrooms are renovated and food is improved, it would be worth the price.

Excellent hotel, but a little old, everything is well-maintained and can't be completely darkened. This is a problem if you have jet legs. I appreciate more food choices in the room.

We decided to treat ourselves to an ocean view bungalow for our today stay in Hana. We did not regret it. The views and grounds were beautiful. The pool and poolside bar with ocean view were an unexpected treat. Local food options were nice, including the ranch restaurant and several food trucks at two food truck parks. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance, which was great given the crowds and parking issues.
