What else can I say, this is one of the greatest hostels Ive ever stayed in terms of staff, guest interaction, and atmosphere! Nao, the proprietor, is a friendly guy who used to be a backpacker himself and lived outside Japan. He speaks fluent English and was thus a great help to me. He assisted me in setting up a rental car, day tour, and guesthouse on another island among other things. People are always gathering in the lounge on the grd level. On the most evenings, there will be a bottle or two or five of awamori. Sometimes singing may or may not be involved. The atmosphere is excellent everyone was very engaging. It felt like the opposite of my limited experience on mainland Japan. Even if they didnt speak a lot of English, all guests here were eager to engage in dialogue. I never had to break the ice here! The actual amenities do not stand out, but they are equipped with everything you require and the space is kept tidy. There are kitchens, showers, and bathrooms on both levels. On a rare night in the dryseason when it wasnt raining, we had only one drinking party up there. I stayed in the male dormitory. Compared to many other Japanese hostels, the capsulestyle beds are a little backbones. They have privacy drapes, but this one has standard bunks.

I knew I would like this place the moment I logged in. The employees were cordial and helpful. They matched me with a dive company, Nova dive, that was reasonably priced and professional and gave me a lovely tiny room. There was a tiny shared kitchen, which was pleasant to use, the bathrooms were clean, and I never had to wait during the four nights I stayed. Check out Lala, the hotel's dog, she's so cute.

This hostel is acceptable. Although the hostels on the mainland Japan are equipped with a hairdryer and a free shampoo and body wash, dont anticipate the same standard as mainland Japanese hostels. Our room had an odd death odor, and I tried to locate the source by looking through the window and under the mattress. Smells like a small, dead animal. We knew that someone had vomited into the toilet cistern and hadnt properly cleaned the orange stains in the bathroom above as they smelt vomit once. While the bikes are in poor shape, the central location, adorable dog, inexpensive laundry facilities cost 100 yen each wash, and hand towels are changed every day to remain beautiful and fresh. Nice rooftop access. People are extremely social here. Cons Strange odors of death and vomit, awful upstairs bathroom, no complimentary coffee or tea, very thin mattresses and tiny rooms, thin walls we could hear every sound from the other rooms. People are extremely social here.

There are only 2 restaurants on the site, but if you want to go anywhere, you can take taxis for just 10 15 minutes. The breakfast is good and delicious. The resort is of high quality and has excellent facilities. There is a great terraced pool, a great children's splash park, and a direct beach access with water activities. The pool and beach are carefully and continuously guarded.

This hotel has been completely renovated to a high standard. It is one of the only hotels I've stayed in Japan that manages to sort of create the atmosphere you might find in a south east Asian resort. The staff were all very friendly. The huge beach is beautiful. The pool is very large and the kids' water park is great. Do not miss the indoor pool and particularly the public bath if you go in summer. The resort has excellent wifi throughout. A short distance away there are many restaurants, our favorite is Funakura no Sato. I would definitely stay here again. No, we went in July 2020 when the covid 19 restrictions were still in place and the hotel had more than adequate rules to deal with this. The hotel itself was only around 30 people, making it a very enjoyable and peaceful place to stay. It might not be different at normal times.

The beach and pool areas were fantastic, especially the little pool area, which was perfect for my 8 and 4 year old boys. It's nice that everything at the resort is nice, and the staff is nice and very clean, and has good amenities. However, the restaurant situation there isn't great. After 3 nights, we checked in, tried to book a room at the beachside bar, and were told it was full that night and the next 2 nights as well. Another restaurant is the same. Every morning, there was a line outside the breakfast area. Also, the lunch options are not very good, and the poolside bar no longer serves food. It's best to plan on leaving the resort for most meals.

I have been living in Japan for over 20 years as a foreign citizen. Most venerable Japanese hotel chains or local independent hotels seem to aim for the lowest common denominator. They offer a reasonable standard of quality for budget travelers or families with children. They do not provide any luxury or wow factor. Futari is unique and is truly a top-notch resort. The beach is beautiful. The pool area is directly on the shore, is quite large, well-designed, includes night lighting, and has lots of cabanas and lounge chairs. A bar next to the pool is one of the things I admire that you will not see in Japan. You can enjoy a drink at the pool rather than just asahi extremely dry. Actual cocktails, wine, and craft beer are available. There is also a cafe next to the pool where you can have a meal. I also appreciate how they have a pool at the end that is designed for kids, so if you want to stay away from the kids, you can just stay near the bar. For rainy days, they have a wellness center with a large indoor pool, gym, japanesestyle hot bath, and spa. The general amenities are excellent such as food, strong wifi, resort transportation free shuttle from the airport, shops inside the resort, selfservice laundry facilities, etc.

We stayed here for the first week of January. The beach was really nice, around 2022 degrees in the ocean and 23 degrees in the air, and the beach station staff was friendly and offered beach watchguard and several various ocean activities. The sunset was beautiful and the seawater was so clean. The bed was uncomfortable. Typical lovely staff and plenty of staff working there. The downside part of the lower rating to almost 35 is that the pool area and pool bar were closed even though the weather was pleasant. 3 out of 5 restaurants were closed giving less food choices! It was low season but it was not a good reason for closing the pool area. The experience would have been much better with the open pool and pool bar. We could get late checkout, but at a cost of 200 jpy an hour!, you might have thought it could have been free due to low season and the low number of visitors. English translations were limited throughout the hotel, and another facility you thought should have existed but didn't was training. Overall a lovely place in a great location with some important service aspects to improve.

Owner is very kind and helpful, and he also provides diving courses, which is such a nice combination! He bbd on the roof sometime with other guests, and we all got happy together with the gorgeous weather! The location is also great, if you want to take the ferry. 10 out of 10.
