It is located across the bridge from the popular restaurant district. We found it extremely easy to get to. The staff greeted us warmly and were extremely helpful. The breakfast was incredible and was the cherry on top for our experience. The only advice I have to share is that there are many mosquitos in the garden (can’t be helped) and to be ready for breakfast 30 minutes before your time.

This was our first stay in a ryokan, sleeping on traditional tatami mats and futons. Staff brought breakfast to our rooms in the morning, it was delicious and a nice cultural experience. The room was large and spacious, along with the bathroom. A great stay in kyoto and I definitely recommend!

Fantastic Ryokan if you want an authentic Japanese hotel experience. It takes a little getting used to for the slipper swap but it just adds to the authenticity. Also be ready for breakfast 30 min before your requested time.

I spent here one night with my husband, a 15 year old son, and a 12 year old daughter, but we regretfully decided against staying longer. The rooms and service were immaculate, and the service was excellent. The location is good, on a quiet street, and it is within walking distance of everything. It was my son's birthday at the last minute, and when we ate dinner, I gave him a simple present, which was very kind and thoughtful.

This is ryokans offers, traditional Japanese clothing, (kimono and yukata) breakfast, Zen garden, tatami mat flooring, sliding wooden doors, bidet, mats for floor sleeping and excellent temperature control. A big plus was the Wifi and location. Staff are awesome. I would warn this ryokan has an 11pm curfew which curtailed our late evening plans to see Fushimi Inari (which is 24/7). The curfew is the biggest setback for travelers who wish to run a late night.
