The true beauty and tranquility at the location cannot be captured by any of the photographs or evaluations of the Dune Camp in Gala. Our tent was a family tent that went directly into the rolling sand dunes, which is about a minute's walk or a second's walk if you are a beach bum like us, to the amazingly blue ocean and spotlessly clean beach. Even though the tents are literally on the shore, the atmosphere inside was pleasantly pleasant all day. Everything we could possibly need was thoughtfully and tastefully equipped, from a water dispenser instead of water bottles to keep us hydrated, to cozy linens, and all the usual hotel rooms amenities. The mattresses were comfy, and it was wonderful to see the refillable shampoo wash bottles, clay water cups, and wooden racks and shelving.. Using sustainable clamping! The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. They always welcomed us back from our safari at the gate and accommodated all of our needs while still allowing us to have enough space and privacy. The food was delicious and a must-see! I doubt there is any other place in sri lankan with a location as unique as dune camp with it's wild scrub jungles, rolling sand dunes, a blue sea, and dark night skies lit by thousands of stars at night all rolled into one!

In December 2020, we visited the dunes. I had never been to this beautiful nature camp before, and the experience was blissful. When we arrived at this calm location, we all slept well of pandemic stress. This location gave me a wonderful view of the ocean and a mix of nature, giving you the impression that you were in the midst of the jungle. While the kids loved the sand dunes despite the rough waters. We received excellent service, and everyone was extremely courteous. Simple and delicious food was served in the restaurant. The restaurant's personnel was courteous and accommodating. I wish sauna go, camp manager Canada, and his staff the best for the coming year. I recommend this location and will return to this lovely location. The season is complete! Nila family.

The food here was tasty and large, and the staff was friendly. The fact that there are luxury tents at the back of the sand dunes, some of which have views of the ocean, and you can walk along the shore and tour the beautiful scenery with an expert guide. And then the location was amazing, near the Gala and Bund National Parks.

During my stay in the back of the world, Chandi made me feel at home. He went above and beyond to make sure that I was enjoying my stay. Organizing a stunning outdoor BBQ and a tour of the sand dunes at dusk. He also organized the gala, gave me a lovely snack for the trip, made a delicious rice terrace tea that was delivered to my tent when I woke up 530 for the tour, and prepared a fantastic breakfast for when I returned. He and the team including rand made the experience unforgettable. The tents themselves are in a fantastic location. The experience is incredibly authentic, and you can hear the waves crashing in the distance! I heartily endorse this place. However, I gave it four stars because I believe the facilities provided are quite expensive, and the shower pressure was very poor.

Just visit, relax, and reserve a safari with Santa! We spent two nights at the back of the beyond dune camp. We reserved an epic safari as part of our stay! We may have been lucky to have encountered so many different species of wildlife, but we believe that this was also due to the expertise of our wonderful ranger santa. The dune camp is a lovely spot to stay right beside the water. When the sun sets, the dunes are gorgeous, and the santa guided walk arranged by the campsite once more with the dune walk was a great way to get acquainted with many of the birds to be seen at GalaRP and also provided stunning views of the ocean on top of the white sand dunes. We stayed in a wonderful tent with beautiful sea views. It was absolutely perfect and one of the highlights of our fourweek stay in Sri Lanka. The staff is incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They had a lovely surprise for us particularly on the last night. Which I wont spoil! Just go there, enjoy, and reserve a safari trip with Santa!.
