Due to the continued rise in global fuel prices and ongoing supply pressures, diesel costs in Fiji have increased significantly again from yesterday, 1 June 2026. Since the end of March, diesel prices have risen by nearly 100% per litre, which has had a substantial impact on our operating costs as a remote island resort.
As Mantaray Island Resort is not connected to mainland utilities, we rely entirely on diesel to generate electricity, operate our desalination plant, and support all transport and logistics. In order to offset a portion of these increased costs, the mandatory fuel surcharge will increase to FJD $15 per person, per day effective from 3 June 2026.
Surcharge Details:
• Applies to all adult guests (16 years and above)
• FJD $15 per person, per day (inclusive of applicable government taxes)
• Applies to all bookings staying from 3 June 2026 onwards
• Payable directly at the resort
This surcharge applies to:
• All existing bookings with travel dates from 3 June 2026
• All new bookings made from this date onward
Please note that this surcharge will be reviewed on 1 July 2026, in line with fuel price movements.

The property is a cashless resort. All purchases for meals, drinks, activities, and extras will be charged directly to your room and settled at check-out using a credit or debit card. Please note, we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and UnionPay. All international card transactions will incur a 3.5% bank fee
We would like to share a friendly update regarding some planned renovation and maintenance works taking place at the resort from this week for a month. These works are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards and ensuring an even better experience for our future guests.
During this period, there will be occasional daytime activity in specific areas of the resort. Please be assured that we are carefully scheduling all work to minimise any disruption to our guests’ comfort and overall island experience. All key guest services, dining, and activities will operate as normal.
Our team will closely manage the process, and we remain dedicated to delivering the warm Fijian hospitality and relaxed atmosphere for which Mantaray is known.
