This small hotel with very friendly but almost noneenglish speaking staff is a good option in this area if you don't want to stay in any of the expensive sovietstyle hotels. Rooms a bit dated but clean and comfortable, wifi not working very well at all. Breakfast was not really our taste but there is a 247 store across the street. BBQ Restaurant across the street is the best option for dining. The village has a beautiful waterfall, and a close car or hidden away are all walks in the national park we loved the takochiho no mine walkclimb. The hotel offers tickets and toiletries for a village starts which is nice, including a sauna but basic. When it started raining while we visited the start, the homeowner brought us umbrellas. So very nice!.

The very kind, welcoming, and helpful staff here is wonderful. The area doesn't draw many western visitors, which is unfortunate as Kirishima is a fantastic place for hiking and incredibly beautiful, so they were pleased and astonished to have us. Even though they spoke limited English, they made every effort to engage in conversation and went out of their way to prepare a memorable western breakfast. We had a memorable visit here due to the nice guys at the breakfast and reception. This hotel is among the cheapest options compared to other hotels in Kirishima. It was also tiny, charming, and not like some of the huge tourist attractions in the area! Nevertheless, it is still fairly costly for a simple room without a view, but I believe that's reflective of the market in Kirishima. This hotel was somewhat old-fashioned when compared to some of the business hotels we stayed in Japan. It was clean, equipped with a large bathroom and two big twin beds. It was also nice to actually be able to walk around the bed, unpack our bags, and unpack our stuff! Although the accommodations are nothing exceptional, the personnel is incredible! They were happy and surprised to find us because Kirishima is a wonderful place for hiking and beautiful.
