We were on a cycling vacation in Holland and booked this hotel for two nights. We were not disappointed. Right on the promenade. Checkin was extremely simple and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. The man in charge helped us take our bags to our room and explained where everything was and times for breakfast. He gave us time to settle in and then showed us to the storage room where we could securely park our bikes while we were there. Our room was lovely and clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water. Volendam is a very touristy area. We had a great view of the marina and lake from our room. There was also a movie screen on the window so we could leave it open and get a breeze during the night. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was great. Late at night, the room got a bit noisy, but when we closed the window, it prevented the noise from the bar. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. The ferry to the island of market was only a 2-minute walk away. There is also a cheese factory on the tourist area. We enjoyed our stay in Volendam and would recommend the hotel. Just be aware many of the restaurants stop serving food at the rp. We usually eat late on vacation so had to change our eating habits for a few nights.

Very pleasant and short stay in Fairytale Village Volendam. We stayed in a hotel van den Hagen. The room is clean and small enough for 2 people. The one thing that I dont like is it's beautiful. The view is seaside. The village is beautiful and quiet. There was a crowd in the restaurants in the evenings. If you have trouble sleeping, you should wear earplugs. Breakfast is nothing special, but enough food for lunch. This place is not recommended for families.

On a sunday, I had a drink with many great, helpful, and nice people. The next day, I went into the cafe, and Audrey was really nice, even let me keep my little but heavy bag there while I went exploring.

Being right on the promenade makes it easy to enjoy a drink or meal, watch people passing by or watch the boats sail. We just had something to drink, and our waitress was very friendly, and our drinks arrived promptly. The food we saw was yummy. definitely worth a visit.

If you want to drink coffee in this place, you need to take care of birds which may steal your biscuits before you drink it. The weather is wonderful. It is the best place in August 2018. I enjoyed my cup of coffee in the coffee shop with my parent. There are many coffee shops around. Definitely take care of bird.
