Usually, we look for something in the heart of town where the action is, even if the parking is on the street or a short distance away on motorcycle tours in Spain every year. But this is an exception that is well worth staying at. La Parade is a conversion of the old railway station that was once owned by the station manager and was long abandoned until an entrepreneur converted it into a prestigious if 2 hotel which opened in August 2015. The station is just below the old town, which is built on a hill, and has plenty of free parking outside. The hotel has two sets of lifts or stairs that link it to the town above, less than 100 meters away. You must be there by midnight when reception is closed, and after greeting them, you will receive your key to a comfortable room and a bed upstairs. There is no need to worry about train noise because the windows and drapes are thick and there are no express or freight trains running by. It only occasionally electric local commuter trains pounding their hydraulics. A delicious breakfast is served in a beautiful and original roof area on the second floor, and we left content and happy with a great choice of something new, and happy to reward the risk someone took to create such a place.

This place is nice and upscale. The place is located at the ancient railway station. On the hilltop, there are several old brick stairs that you can ascend, or you can ascend using the cablecarttram and the lift. In the center of the hotel, and subsequently higher in the city, you'll discover pubs and stores. There is a wealth to discover, and the town and region have a rich history. Even the smallest cafe provided the finest tapas we've ever had. We had a shower, and the bath was wonderful. Although the railway station is still in the building, the trains didn't bother us at all. The staff is helpful, kind, and courteous. There is a metro stop in the hotel, and the breakfast is delicious. The local cuisine seems to be quite local, and it is spotless everywhere. You can ascend using a combination of a lift and a cablecarttram to get up because the town is built on a hill. It is simple to find parking for both my and my car.

I booked this hotel for a stay of 3 nights and got a very decent value for money, the room was tidy and the decor was very nice, like the old building. The bad thing is that the room size was small. The location is not a good choice but if you want to have good place to stay, this hotel has a few restaurants but there are plenty of bars on the lower level, even though this hotel is on the lower level of town. The room is also very tidy.

We had a great experience at the Parade Hotel in Punta Gorda. The location is excellent. The city center is within walking distance, and the train station is downstairs. The room and bath are clean. The hotel staff at the front desk and breakfast room is helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is delicious and uses local ingredients.
