I had a fantastic stay at the Baytree Guesthouse in Dorchester! The hosts were absolutely wonderful and so helpful with any inquiry I might have. The room was big and very comfortable, everything was clean. Perfect location, only a 15-20 minute walk from central Dorchester and the train station. Quiet neighbourhood. I truly enjoyed my time here and wouldn't hesitate to book this guesthouse again the next time I'm in Dorchester. Would wholeheartedly recommend!

We had a warm welcome at the Bay Tree House. The location is excellent—a very easy 10 min walk to the High St and very close to the A35 and the 352. Parking for 3 cars and also on the quiet road where it is located. It does face businesses and a busy main road close by but the road noise was not an issue. The room had everything that was needed and attractively decorated. Breakfast was fruit/yogurt/cereals and toast but was more than adequate. The room was serviced daily and there was attention to detail.

My room was immaculate. no on suite bathroom with my room. The shared bathroom was huge with both a shower and a bath. Continental style breakfast was great with a large selection of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit etc.

Made an improvised stop to Dorchester on our way to the West Coast. The Bay Tree House was the first of many wonderful discoveries in the region. I would say, take more time to smell the roses and stay longer. This estabiahment is a great base for all your exploration.

I had a single room with a very comfortable bed and slept very well. The breakfast was ideal for me and I was offered a cooked breakfast too. Gary was extremely helpful and made life a lot easier for me.I loved the atmosphere of Bay Tree House and would happily stay there again.

Bay Tree is in a quiet location and easy walking distance to Dorchester town. Gary, our host, was excellent, very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was relaxed in a lovely room aroind a table of about 8 settings, perfect to have a morning chat with fellow guests. Nice to chat and get to know new people from different places. The rooms are tastefully furnished and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. Good shower ensuite. Very comfy bed, excellent night's sleep. Quiet house.

Nice and clean - a good stay. The hosts were really great when I arrived quite late at night due to a missed train, and were really helpful in making sure I could get right into my room easily. I really appreciated their helpfulness and easy communication. There are a number of pets about the house including dogs, who make a bit of noise in the evening and early morning, but not too bad. I would be quite happy to stay here again.

The Bay Tree House was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable; Gary was friendly and helpful; and the location is a short walk to town. I also walked to both of Thomas Hardy’s homes. Max Gate was a leisurely ten minutes away; the cottage was a longer walk, but the route through the Dorset countryside was indescribably beautiful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The services are as described, the breakfast options are extensive and my room is spacious and clean. I appreciated the fact it is located within walking distance to the centre, but away from any noise to ensure a quiet night's sleep. If I'm in Dorchester again, I would certainly stay again. Highly recommended.

I booked late and last minute through an app, but it was no problem. After over 5 hours of driving I was ready to relax and sleep and Bay Tree was perfect for this. I booked the single room with ensuite so had to climb to the top floor but did this with ease, even with three bags. The room was clean and wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and set me up well for my drive home. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. Hopefully in nicer weather so I could take advantage of the gorgeous looking outdoor area they have.

A very convenient location for Dorchester centre which was a 15 minute walk. The landlord was very friendly and helpful and made my 4 night stay very comfortable. There was a great choice at breakfast where the landlord was able to sort me out with porridge.
