This is an old hotel built in the 1920 s that was renovated a few years ago. The inside is very clean and updated except for the lobby areas which are decorated to reflect the period the hotel was built. The owner-proprietor was wonderful, she was very knowledgeable about the area and gave excellent advice on where to go and what to see. The beautiful back patio has a gas fire pit, a barbecue, and a seating area. Breakfast and snacks are available 24 hours a day, it was nice to have an ice cream treat right before bedtime. If you are in the area, make sure to take the ferry across the river.

Amazing hotel, clean, comfortable, quiet, with updated amenities in the heart of Kathlamet center. Beautiful building and decor with quiet air conditioning and soft beds. Very large fully equipped kitchen that is always open to guests. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, riverfront parks and piers.

It is a great way to experience the flavor of a historical hotel that has not been thoroughly cleaned up but still has all modern safety features like alarms and sprinklers. The bed in our room was really comfortable and the always open breakfast and snack room was a real plus. Good recommendations about eats were appreciated by the pizza mill and nearby brewery.

I was on a short road trip and came across a room at the Hotel Cathlamet. I tried to book a room at the last minute but it was full. They called back a few hours later to inform me there was a cancellation. I drove up the river from Astorga and took the ferry over the Columbia River. The hotel is lovely, the small town of Catlamet is friendly, the setting on a hill above the Columbia is picturesque and the proximity to a wildlife refuge just downstream provides a pleasant walk.

This wasnt the most wonderful trip weve ever taken, but it wasnt at all the best. The building itself is just fine, as much of the original interior has been preserved and repaired. The hosts are quite pleasant and hospitable, and they get points for the dining room being open 24 hours a day to guests. Additional points for the presence of genuine metal flatware forks, spoons, and knives. Also nice are comfy mattresses. Its not so good that anyone in a wheelchair or who relies on a walker or other mobility device would find this motel exceptionally challenging. We were only able to assess the dimensions of the other rooms, but I would say that full ada compliance is not what you ought to anticipate. We visited there in the hopes of taking advantage of the july weekend explosions, but we were unable to. You ought to look elsewhere, perhaps across the Canadian border, if youre searching for tranquility on the July ith holiday.
