Regulations for Domestic Travel in Indonesia

 

General Regulations Based on the Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force No. 1 of 2023

For individuals who travel domestically and internationally, engage in activities in public facilities, and participate in large-scale events must make personal efforts to protect themselves from COVID-19 transmission. Each individual:

• is recommended to receive the COVID-19 vaccination up to the 2nd booster or 4th dose, especially for individuals at high risk of COVID-19 transmission;
• is allowed not to wear masks when in a healthy condition and not at risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19;
• is advised to carry a hand sanitizer and/or use soap and running water for regular handwashing;
• is recommended to maintain distance or avoid crowds to prevent COVID-19 transmission, especially individuals who are unwell and at risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19; and
• is recommended to continue using the SATUSEHAT application to monitor personal health.

Travel Regulations Based on Transportation Modes

Land	Passengers who are/will be undertaking domestic travel using land transportation can refer to the following travel policy: Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation No.14 of 2023 on Health Protocols for Travelers Using Ground Transportation During the Transition Period of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Maritime (Ocean)	Passengers who will/be undertaking domestic travel using maritime transportation can refer to the following travel policy: Circular of the Ministry of Transportation No. 15 of 2023 on Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic and International Travel by Sea During the Transition Period of the COVID-19 Endemic.
Air	Passengers who are/will be undertaking domestic travel using air transportation can refer to the following travel policy: Circular Letter from the Ministry of Transportation No. 16 of 2023 regarding Health Protocols for Travelers by Air Transportation During the Transition Period of the COVID-19 Endemic
Train	Passengers who are/will be traveling domestically using train transportation can refer to the following travel policy: Circular Letter from the Ministry of Transportation No.17 of 2023 regarding Health Protocols for Train Travelers during the Transition Period of COVID-19.

 

New Entry Regulation for Foreign Visitors to Bali

 

Effective from February 14, 2024, in accordance with Law Number 15 of 2023, all foreign tourists visiting Bali are required to pay a retribution fee of 10 USD (equivalent to 150,000 IDR). This fee contributes to the preservation of Bali's cultural heritage, the enhancement of its natural environment, and the improvement of the overall travel experience. 

 

Certain groups of foreign tourists may qualify for an exemption from the retribution fee, subject to the following conditions:

1. Holders of diplomatic and official visas.
2. Crew members on transportation vehicles.
3. Holders of Temporary Stay Permit Card (KITAS) or Permanent Stay Permit Card (KITAP).
4. Holders of family reunification visas.
5. Student visa holders.
6. Golden visa holders, and
7. Holders of visas not intended for tourism purposes issued by Immigration.

 

Please note: To be eligible for the exemption from the retribution fee, foreign tourists falling under categories 6 and 7 need to submit an application through the Love Bali System at least 5 (five) days before their arrival in Bali. If the application is submitted less than 5 (five) days prior to arrival, foreign tourists will still be subject to the retribution fee.
