The location of the hotel is superb, with cafes and restaurants nearby. Public transportation is also convenient as it is right next to a tram stop. My room was discreet in the back, which made my room very peaceful. Although it was a small room, the room was also immaculately clean, and the layout was pleasant, making it feel big. The main problem was getting baggage into and out of the room because even taking the elevator required some up-and-down steps to reach the location of the room. Also, the ground wasn't that common in the region when entering the hotel from the street.

The condition of the room was okay, as the condition of the room is very clean. The bed is very comfortable. It also has a hairdryer and has a good smell. The cleanliness is good. But there are some good touches, such as the towels need to be renewed. Maybe the service was better, the staff could provide more lighting in the breezeway.

We strongly advise staying at the Old Town Hotel for a nice stay in Berlin. We were there for seven nights and felt we had made a great choice. I suppose it's at the low end of the price for hotel lodging close to the center of a major European city, but it is still very comfortable and secure, with friendly assistance at the desk and a good breakfast, and again with friendly service. The location is excellent, just four stops on the tram from Alexandre Plate when there it's easy to get to any destination in Berlin, and the airport train drops you off at Alexandre Plate station, making transfers are no problem. The area surrounding the hotel is great. On two evenings, we ate at an italian restaurant across the street, and there is an excellent Vietnamese street food cafe just around the corner, which we also used twice. This means that after a good day of sightseeing, you can easily eat well near the hotel. If we came back to Berlin, I'm pretty sure we would stay at the old town hotel again and recommend it to anyone we knew who is planning a trip themselves.

Aside from that, it's quiet and peaceful in the backyard. Definitely no traffic noise. The mattress is a little worn. However, it's still in good condition for a wonderful night's sleep. The room style is simple but attractive. The small bathroom with a shower has recently been refurbished. The room and bathroom were quite tidy as was the rest of the hotel. Nice breakfast area. Although the breakfast buffet is fairly limited, it is a carefully curated selection for a solid start to the day. A tram stop, a drugstore, a supermarket, and a supermarket are nearby. From Alexanderplatz, it takes 20 minutes to stroll with lightweight baggage and comfortable shoes. Friendly and helpful personnel. My 5 day stay was wonderful.
