We stayed here for 4 nights for diving. Its definitely a place for divers. The dive center is good, the guides and staff are professional and helpful. Room quite nice. Food is great indonesian food. We will come back here again.

Maratua dive centre and lodge is very focused on diving. I say this because there are other'resorts on the island that cater for general tourism with diving added in. These guys are all about diving and their team with dive master Emman at the helm is one of the most professional outfits we have dived with. This is a nofrills divingfocused outfit and you wont be hard pressed to find idolce or better dive company on maratusue. Knowledgeable, professional, wellmaintained gear, delicious food, and comfortable lodges facing west will guarantee he safe, fun,and unforgettable dive holiday. They came recommended to us by another dive school and ive cannot recommend them enough to you. Pygmy seahorse, anyone?.

This location is paradise, we hope it will be preserved as much as possible like this, and we recommend that you enjoy the beauty of this island by staying at maratua dive center and lodge! What a wonderful location! We visited there in may, but we will always remember it as one of the best vacations weve ever had! The owner assisted us in organizing the boat ride back and forth from berau airport, which went quite smoothly. As soon as we arrived, our eyes could be seen from Maratus beauty. We stayed in tucked away among the trees but with incredibly nice and comfortable accommodations with air conditioning and oozing balcony. The restaurant is excellent they prepared breakfast, lunch, dinner for us, with an amazing selection of delectable cuisine. They were also touring the island on rented motorcycles, organized several dives with them, had idly trained dive instructors who were both professional and friendly, etc. With him, well always felt very secure! During our dive trips, ive seen the most incredible things, such as tons of turtles to colorful coral reefs and many fish.

Last Easter, we spent a week at maratua diving center and had savored it. We still hold dear memories of it as well. The place was heavenly, the rooms were spacious, and the cuisine was excellent, people were very friendly, dives were extremely relaxed because we had the guide and boat to ourselves. Even when he doesnt leave, owner kadek arranges everything for us regarding various transfers. He even picked us up from the airport in balikpapan where hen departs and took us out for lunch. With many fascinating tales to tell, hilarious individuals. If you want to unwind and dive away from crowds, this is incredibly recommended.

We are very grateful to Kadek and the team. We hope to return someday! An unforgettable experience! My girlfriend and i intended to go diving in the derawan islands. Maratua was chosen for its unspoiled and remote atmosphere and crystalclear waters. Kadesh, who runs the maratus dive center, gave us our padi open water certificate for three days. His extensive knowledge of the region and 30 years of diving experience make us feel fortunate to be his students. Learning to dive around the coral reef of maraua is a truly unique experience where you can discover an amazing underwater world while getting padis certification. Regarding lodging, we felt quite at home in cottages, and there were plenty of vegetarian options and delicious food. In the afternoons when we visited the long jetty, guests could enjoy scooter tours of this island and spend time at night watching the stars.
