It would be great to return. Very friendly and helpful owners, tidy and nice apartments with garden and beautiful views. A delicious meal created by the owners, the pool was perfect for relaxing and great location to visit the Riviera Maya. Our visit to La Contra for a week was to brief.

I will return frequently to stay here. In October, my husband and I spent one night here, but it wasn't what we thought we had reserved, and it enraged me to tears because we were so pleasantly blown away. This gem is beautiful in every way. There are many nightlights surrounding the stunning plants and vegetation, but the bedrooms were pitch black due to the blinds and shutters, making them ideal places to rest. To find it, you'll need a car and a mobile phone, but it's certainly laborious. We assumed we had reserved a room within a villa, but what we received was a villa within a villa composed of an open-plan kitchen lounge dining, two traditionally Italian-style bedrooms, and one bathroom. The grounds included lakes for fishing, tennis courts, barbecue and barbecue areas, multiple outdoor seating spaces, lots of olive and fruit trees, and a swimming pool when in season. You're far from everything, it was genuinely relaxing. The proprietor greeted us, although there was a language barrier, but we were made to feel really at home, and then returned with a lovely bottle of red cake and a lovely dessert. The bedrooms were pitch black as the blinds and shutters kept the trees and grounds at night because they were too dim

When you first drive to this property, you may be forgiven for thinking the large scary building behind the secured gates in front of you is the la contra farm. A small sign directs you to the left, and you notice the farm house is located just down the hill. The view as you approach the property is breathtaking. Luigi welcomed us with a lovely big smile, which broke through any language barrier. We loved the apartment and the tranquility of the property so much that we extended our stay. If this is one location you arrive expecting to be happy staying one or two nights, you end up wondering if you could stay forever. Luigi and Gillian brought us a lovely pie as a present, and their warmth and hospitality made us feel like part of their family. Luigi spent time with my family. With the use of Google Translate, we spent time sitting in the lovely grounds talking all things italian and helping me with my basic Italian. Luigi gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant in a nearby town and gave us advice for the rest of our vacation. The apartment was beautiful and immaculate. We intend to go back! Thank you Luigi and Gillian for all your diversity!.

I have been there 5 times and will go back. Convenient and beautifully designed rooms. Great garden and swimming pool. Perfect location for tours to tourist attractions.. Wonderful owners. In short, the best place to stay in Italy
