We had a great stay here. The staff were all lovely, especially Asia who was incredibly helpful from start to finish and Angelo the chef whose food was really good. This property is not for the faint hearted though. Over 150 steps to get from the road to the villa (and then back up again to get into town or to anywhere else!), and over 200 steps down to the jetty to sunbathe by the sea and access the water via the ladder. The views are stunning but the stairs in the heat can be a killer - and i am fit and active and found it a struggle at times. Overall we would go back here again but this property would not be great for anyone with any form of mobility issues.

I had a wonderful stay overall. The property was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The views were amazing, and even enjoyed being away from the busy crowds of Amalfi and was so peaceful. My room was amazing and private, which I loved. Asia was super helpful with everything, arranging the private transportation from and to Naples, helping with recommendations and the best recommendations for a tour to Capri, loved it. Future guests should know that the property is about 30–35 minutes WALK from Amalfi town center, and 10 min buss ride, but it may take a little time to understand the bus system . The hotel can arrange golf cart transportation, but I recommend confirming the price beforehand, since once I arrived in Amalfi from taking the golf cart he tried to charge me double (which I don’t think was the hotel’s fault) Also, be prepared for a lot of stairs—much more than I expected! After a couple of days, though, I got used to it and even considered it part of my daily workout haha. If you don’t mind some walking and want a peaceful Amalfi Coast experience, with breathtaking views, this is a great place to stay. 🇮🇹✨

All the staff from our initial welcome by Asia, to the breakfast, housekeeping team and dinners prepared by Angelo in the evening were super welcoming and friendly - thank you! The property itself perched high on the hillside had beautiful views over the ocean and spots to enjoy morning coffee and breakfast. Although a little out of Amalfi town, a super spot for relaxation away from the hustle and bustle. Villa Santa Maria is a spot my wife and I would love to return to - thank you for a wonderful stay!

Asia is the host and takes care of everything you need. The breakfast in the morning is freshly made for you. I loved the private rooftop area to lay out on and private beach area was so cool to walk too and enjoy. This plays has great views and just a 4-5 minute golf cart ride into the heart of Amalfi with all the shops and restaurants. FIVE STARS *****

My best friend and I spent 12 nights at this stunning boutique hotel, using it as our perfect home base. Tucked away on the outskirts of Amalfi, this cliffside gem felt like a hidden paradise—peaceful, quiet, and boasting breathtaking views in every direction. We even had a private deck with a jacuzzi overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The staff—shoutout to Asia, Tareeq, and Angelo—were incredible. They were so friendly and constantly went above and beyond, even trekking up and down the stairs all day to greet guests and help with luggage. Fair warning: there are about 170 stairs to get down to the hotel (I didn't count, but someone did! 😂). It’s a bit of a workout, so it’s definitely not the spot for anyone with mobility issues. We cherished every second of our stay and cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Asia and Tarik were unbelievably nice and helpful. I have never had such good service. It’s 148 steps down and 148 steps back up, but was so worth it. We had the junior suite which is off by itself and secluded. Asia called us a week before and the morning of. She met us at the top of the stairs and walked us down to our room and took took the time to explain everything and answered our questions. The view is one of a kind. This is definitely a must.

We had Asia as our Hostess and she was Excellent ! She was attentive and had everything and more in order for us. She answered all our questions and helped us in every way possible. The Resort is so Lucky to have a key personal and person on their staff. Highly recommend. 165 stairs to rooms

This place is incredible! An amazing cliffside setting with direct access to the emerald water of the Mediterranean. However, because of its setting, there are a lot of stairs (not for those who are out of shape). There are 165 steps down to the accommodation from the main road (staff helped with luggage) and another 300 steps down to the water. That said, this is a spectacular location and a wonderful place to stay. Clean well-appointed rooms. We stayed in a room with our own deck area and private hot tub. Other rooms share a communal hot tub. Great made-to-order breakfast is included. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nearby restaurants within walking distance. Parking is very limited and driving and parking along the Amalfi Coast are tricky and tight. We drove and found parking along the road with our small car. Keep the hotel posted with your method of travel (car, driver, taxi, etc.) so that they can anticipate your arrival. Try lunch at the nearby seaside restaurant only accessible by the water (they will pick you up at the hotel dock area for free). Can't recommend this place enough.

Salvatore and Gerardo were exceptionally good hosts. The accommodation really nice, clean, good views and personal service. The stairs keep you in shape but Gerardo insists helping with the bags, so thats no problem. Breakfast was excellent and the setting beautiful. We arrived by car and that is not the best in Amalfi because the streets are very narrow and parking spaces are not easily found. Next time we will arrive by boat taxi. :)

We loved our stay! Salvatore, Angelo and the entire staff were fabulous. The breakfast was excellent and they had accommodations for my dietary needs (gluten and dairy free). The view is worth every penny! We loved the private water access and hot tub. The walk to Amalfi is beautiful and there are amazing restaurants just nearby as well. We definitely recommend!

We had a very lovely experience, thanks to the special attention of Salvatore, Angelo and all the staff of Villa Santa Maria. The location of the hotel is exceptional and being able to walk to the ocean and swim is very special. Loved all the steps on the property. It would have been nice to use the sauna but it was out of order. Otherwise everything was perfect and I would definitely come back and recommend.
