As a Japanese Canadian living in Japan, I really dislike weekend cottage getaways. That wasn't a thing in Hokkaido until recently, I always found it odd. I truly believe hokkaidos is the ideal location for a flourishing cottage country business. I think I've finally found the closest cottage! It's not really private there are three identical cottages on the property, but the other two were unoccupied when we stayed, it is directly across the street but a very small town with few cars after sunset, but it's comfortable, cozy, and cute! The only other item is a real wood fireplace! That's honestly one of the greatest and most unforgettable weekends of my hokkaido life here. We only stayed one night, but I wish we could have stayed longer. The calm silence that blanketed the area after sunset, coupled with a full moon and clear skies following the heavy snow falling earlier in the day, created scenery that appeared to be from fantasy. Even though our extremities were freezing, we didn't want to return to the lodge when we went on a walk to the lake, which is only seven minutes away. Maybe my luck with timing and the natural factors may have skew my critique, but I don't know why this place doesn't have better reviews! I mean, the service was good, the food was decent, and the

This place is very good. It is located in a charming little, dying village, and we stayed here for three nights and were very well provided. Unfortunately, the nearest shop is an hour drive away, so we bought all the food at our previous destination. The personnel in tourist information are friendly, but they couldn't provide a lot of information. One day we went to Mount Hakona?, a mountain near Lake Hikari, which was quite challenging to climb close to the summit, so be careful. The following day we had a walk along the train track, which turned out to be a lot of climbing over tunnels and almost along the road, not very exciting. As an onset lover, and as we had the whole location just for us, I adored the onset and went both morning and evening. To get there, you must rent a vehicle and move around. Furthermore, some of the roads are very small. It is a cabin, not a five-star hotel, but in its place, I'm happy to give it a 5-star rating.

Starting April 1, 2026, guests will be required to pay the Hokkaido Prefectural Tax and the Municipal Accommodation Taxes at the revised rates directly to the property at the time of check-in. The taxes are charged on a per person, per night basis, calculated from the room rate as follows:
