We highly recommend the Hakuba Landmark Happo Lodge. Our hosts we extremely welcoming and helpful during or stay. The rooms were generous in size, the breakfasts western style - every variety of eggs that you could think of, and the lodge is easy walking distance to the ski lift at Happo One or the shuttle service to other resorts.

Great place to stay! We picked Hakuba Landmark Happo Lodge as it was a good compromise between location and price. Several minute walk to Happo ski resort and we loved the freshly cooked breakfast every morning!

Excellent staff, comfortable rooms, convenient location and yummy breakfasts. Paul and Tracey and all the staff made us feel very comfortable and went out of their way to assist us in any way possible, eg transfers, lift passes and advice. I heartily endorse this resort. The famous Happo Lodge's personnel was really welcoming and accommodating. They gave us useful advice regarding transportation, restaurants, and pick-up at the bus stop from the start of our trip. I have never seen such warm service before. The lodge is tidy and cozy. The rooms are incredibly large. The lounge area is a fantastic place to unwind after a day of skiing, and there is a vending machine for apres ski drinks. Each morning's breakfasts consisted of a variety of bacon and eggs, muffins, and french toast in western fashion. For your toast, there was also jam, veggies, coffee, tea, and juice. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute.

We just stayed at the iconic Happo lodge for nine wonderful nights, and we had a great time. Every morning at 730 am, breakfast is served, which makes for an excellent start to the day. The closest harpoon chair lift is only a few meters away from the lodge. We had a brief distance to rhythm sports, where the bus stop for bus connections to other mountains is located. The staff is always incredibly kind and helpful, they always arranged the restaurant, and Paul was always pleased to give us a ride there. The rooms are spacious and pleasant. We will most certainly return to the historic Happo lodge when we visit Hakuna in the future. We appreciate it very much, paul, tracey, and staff.

After staying with Paul and tracey for the second year, I would like to thank them again for their great personal service and hospitality. The hotel is in a great location, close walking to many bars and restaurants, and close to bus routes and ski lifts. Paul and tracey are very accommodating to any request thank you again for a great trip!

With the exception of Paul and tracey, we had a fantastic three-night visit. The wonderful hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was very cozy and the hot breakfast was delicious. Paul provides excellent knowledge of the hidden secrets of Havana. The entire staff, especially my adolescent sons, adored Paul. Would without a doubt give Hoku One a five out of five outings.

I suggest staying here. In February 2020, my son and I spent a week here. We went primarily for skiing. The hotel is conveniently located near a ski rental shop rhythm and a lift. The rooms were good, large, with a great shower and a comfortable bed. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice, however if there were more cereals, muesli, and even some fruit, it would have been great!

Although the hotel was very close to the ski lifts but the property maintenance need to be reviewed as I suspect they use to have onsen bathrooms downstairs and the rooms only had tatami mats traditional sleep area as the bathroom design was weird. even though the room was big and the cardboards for the futon beds large the shower and toilet was tiny and there is no space to walk. The shower lights and fan did not work and the floor was taped with patch tap and I am pretty tiny there is no space for you to walk out of the shower without tripping or knocking yourself on the toilet. Also you cannot take off your pants to go to the toilet without hitting your head on the wall so you need to take off your pants outside before you walk in. Why didn't they make the wash basin next to the shower and the toilet where the wash basin outside the room was. Also the light control was next to the door there is no switch next to the bed so you trip over in the darkness to go to bed or turn on the lights. Even though there is a kettle but there is no power point near the table you need to use the power point next to the bed or on the floor next to the door. Breakfast is included and nicely cooked but I am sure 90% of people agree bacon and eggs and bread everyday is a put off especially if you are in Japan. My suggestion is all room design and rearrangement should be reassessed, simple thing as bedside lamp will be nice.
