Overall, an excellent choice. If your only purpose in staying in a hotel is simply to rest and sleep after a day of walking, then this is a great choice because it is less expensive than others. Our Zakone trip started on the touan line, followed by the cable car, ropeway, and ended on the pirate ship. Then we took a bus to Dakara and got off after around 7 minutes, walking back 5 minutes to this hotel. The room is clean, but you can sense the age of the building, and it is already quite old. Breakfast is good, and it costs only 1,00 yen.

When searching online for hotels in Zakone, we came across the prices to be extremely high! We finally found Rakun, and booked a room for two nights for almost $200 including breakfast and dinner. The hotel is located in the city centers center on a 10-minute walk from a bus stop, which is not well used to walking! There was no sidewalk! The hotel looked wonderful and tidy from the outside, and the reception was fine too. However, the room was very old and worn out! The beds are incredibly uncomfortable, and there was no soundproofing at all. And the couple next door werent the best neighbors! I had to put on earplugs during sleep! Although the brunch and dinner were too Japanese, I suppose it was fine. It was a bad idea to use the spa. The personnel were the hotels only positive aspect. They were too welcoming and kind, and speaking poor English, but they would go above and above to assist you and make your life easier. Im hoping they complete some serious renovations to the hotel interior.

In April, we stayed one night here. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. We reserved a room with tatami beds. Although the hotel is quite old, the rooms are tidy. Japanese-western breakfast is served. The initial period is brief but refreshing. We just wanted to appreciate the beautiful scenery around us and didn't want to spend so much money in the hotel. The hotel was undoubtedly a wise decision with this in mind. Zakone Lake is accessible on foot in 20 minutes. Bus stop is close to the hotel. We played 107 for one night, which included breakfast.
