We stayed here for 8 nights in February 2019. Our first trip to Japan skis, and we were all quite pleased to have selected Sakura yoko, and especially Marino Lodge. The lodge is stunning, warm, and well-organized. With a lot of space in the dry room and common areas. Our western room was very spacious, with a beautiful view of the surrounding snow-laden trees. The room had japanese touches throughout, plenty of hanging and storage space, and it was more importantly warm and clean. The in-house one was a plus. The inside one is spacious, clean, and pleasant to touch. Which is good after the nearly unbearably hot local ones we had in nozawa. The outdoor starts were incredible. Sitting in the hot mineral water with views of the surrounding winter landscape and often snowflakes floating down onto your face. We enjoyed the lounge area for our apresski drink and chat with the interesting and varied mix of international and local visitors gathering there at the conclusion of another great day ever. There was a wide selection to please everyone. Breakfast, yogurt, eggs, toast, beans, bacon, cereals, fruits, and more. For those who wanted to stay in, a nighttime meal was provided. There is a complimentary lodge service that can take you into the village and it ends at rp. There are plenty of options for dining out. Finally

The staff was fantastic, they were very welcoming and accommodating. I want to thank the manager named Matthew for taking care of our stay. The hotel has a really cozy, calm setting where you can meet a lot of new people. The village is just walking distance from it and it is close to the nearest lift. When the lift is closed, you must have a car to reach the main lifts, such as Kako. The bedroom is spacious by Japanese standards. Also, not forgetting the traditional Japanese bath with a back view. A pleasant stay in a non-hotel setting. We would like to highlight the cleanliness of the hotel. There are no emptying bins in the room, quick bathroom cleaning for 5 days, stairs, etc. Given it's buffet, breakfast can be a little more substantial. First come, first served.

Totally satisfied with our experience here. With friends, we stayed for 10 nights. Our first trip to the Yokota Region and Japan. The entirety of the crew, including Matt and Jen, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were always pleased to drive us to a neighboring eatery. Although we had an assurance, we used the first floor, which was wonderful for tight muscles, the room was clean and cozy. Every day, a large selection of meals was provided for breakfast. After skiing, the reception lift was exceptionally quick and effective. Every day, a happy hour was a great time to gather in the lounge area and relax over a beer. Although the snow wasnt the finest, we would have loved to return in a year with the same level.

For six nights, my wife and I stayed at the Marino lodge. This was our second visit to Sakura and our first winter trip of this season. We arrived late and were greeted by Sarah who seemed to have waited for us and gave us a brief guided tour. On the late night, reception usually closes. The lodge is nicely situated about halfway between Kako and Sakura Village, just down the hill from the Sakura onset chair lift yodel information bureau. This means it is easy to walk to the lifts and the village for the shops and restaurants. The lodge is fairly old, and some areas require some tac. The main sign outside has missing panels, which I assume based on online photos has been so for a while, and the name above the door reads new fuji which stumped our driver who walked up to the hotel, decided this wasnt the hotel we were looking for and pulled away. He changed his mind five minutes later and returned us. The rooms are slightly small for Japan, but smaller than we expected, but clean and comfortable. We chose a Western en suite hotel and, I think, it is also offered in hotels in the European lodge style. Breakfast is included, which is a mediocre buffet. As others have mentioned, I was hesitant at first as this was my first time encounter that. Everyday service is provided at

Our family of five spent four days skiing at Marino and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lodging was exactly what we were looking for, clean, good food, and facilities, but most of all, it felt at home. The common lounge and bar were great places to have a drink at the end of a hard day or delicious breakfast before leaving. The beginning was great, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Matt and his wife did an outstanding job creating a family atmosphere. The village is ideal, very local, with great dining options, and of course, the skiing was fantastic. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience, we wish we could have remained longer.
