An atmospheric small place next to fiji temple that offers nourishment for both the body and the soul. Before heading to sample their delicious breakfast, you can join a meditation session led by the abbot in the main temple building below. Before starting, we were instructed on seize, the proper floor seat position in Japan. Interestingly, this is frowned upon in Korea as it is reserved for criminals. If your legs become numb about halfway through, be careful, the abbot promises not to hit you with a wooden stick to maintain your posture, apparently they do that to regular monks. The food is excellent, is very varied and beautifully presented. The owners make their original ginger ale, which is definitely worth trying. The initial portion is a little tiny but totally adequate since there are only 12 rooms in the entire venue.

This Roman, loosely associated with the nearby Fukinoji Temple, was wonderful! The staff was pleasant and prepared a sumptuous dinner as well as a delicious breakfast. My guarantee room was spacious and overlooking a tiny private garden. I was able to completely relax and enjoy the peace and quiet both in and out of the hot spring bath. I awoke in the morning to the song of the nightingales. I don't think it could have been better.

This inn is run by the family of the abbott of the Fidji Temple next door. Expect peace, simplicity, clean and adequate rooms and meals prepared using local ingredients including melt in your mouth bingo beef and home made soba. Photos here show the surrounding bamboo groves, flowers, and vegetation. The beginning is a bit of a squeeze but if you use it at strategic times, it won't be too bad.

The abbots family manage this Minshuku Roman where you can lay your own bed in the famous Fuji shrine next door. They are simply tiny rooms with no private baths. But the hosts are beautiful. The abbots wife is a manager and receptionist and their son is a former Soba master and a priest. The food is delicious. Free and fast wifi. If the priest is free, you can ask him to conduct a meditation session in the morning.
