I loved every second, the onsen was magical, and the dinner and breakfast were both amazing. The only thing i have to complain about is that the bathroom in the west annex is a little antiquated and has some mold on some parts of the walls.

This location is truly remarkable! The hotel boasts cleanliness and tranquility, the staff members are exceptionally friendly and always offer a friendly greeting. The rooms are traditional, comfortable, and exude charm. Its worth mentioning that the onsen itself is quite serene and well worth exploring. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment! My first visit to japan was made unforgettable by mt. Fuji, hakone, as well as this ryokan, making it one of the best and most memorable days ever!.

The traditional ryokan offers stunning private and communal hot springs. It is conveniently located near several bus routes and a family mart. The staff members are exceptional, always willing to go above and beyond to meet your needs. Breakfast was interesting, although it wasnt everyones cup of tea, especially the fish and pickles. Dinner was delicious and sure to make everyone happy. However, be aware that their orange juice is actually an odd orange drink rather than orange water. Instead, get sake. If you arrive late at night, you wont need to reserve bottled spring because everyone else is probably sleeping.

The rooms are beautiful, the onsen is perfect and the traditional japanese food is great. The staff is very kind and caring. We stayed 3 nights in shinkyoro and it was a great experience.

I stayed in a japanesestyle room with ionsen on the ground floor of the west annex. It appears to be old but clean. The tatami mats are soft and not dusty or filthy at all. There is plenty of room in the room and it is wellheated. Service is better than at other ryokans ive been to in this area. Staff is considerate. They assisted me with luggage, tea, food, and futon. Before settling in, the rooms humidifier was filled with water. Food is delicious and the portions are just right. You wont feel hungry or horribly bloated either. Onsan is the best. Pool is sufficiently large and in separate hut with doors so you can block the wind if you wish. Spring water is milky like what youd expect from this region. Drinks in fridge are not free, but the accommodation has thermal flasks of cold and hot water that are refilled daily.

Very charming hotel with excellent service. Large rooms in the japanese style with a nice view of the beautiful hot springs cascade. Enjoyable outside onsen and last but not least delicious gastronomic meals with up to 15 courses. All served in small portions of refined dishes.

This is a great hotel. The room was tinier than expected, but thats to be expected in tokyo! The staff was lovely, the breakfast was delicious, and there were plenty of amenities like hair care, face masks, toothbrushes and skincare in the hotel lobby. There is also countless options for breakfast!.

The best thing i did while in japan was to stay here with my brother last week in one of the westernstyle suites. The rooms are old, as mentioned in previous reviews, but clean, and tbh ive preferred the rustic or homey atmosphere. Really beautiful grounds. It would be an understatement to say that the service was excellent. As we got off the bus and went up, the staff rushed down to grab our bags and check us in. Same thing when he checked out, a person had forgotten an apple pencil and my hat, so the same staff member drove down from the hotel where mr. Kana, who was attending our room, was very kind and considerate. After 30 k steps dings per day for ten days since arriving in china, this private onsen was everything utmost satisfaction. Never been so happy to smell of sulfur lol. According to my sister, at least here in the states, some of those expensive soaps and cleaners etc., are provided in their bathrooms. In my opinion, it was fantastic, full of traditional japinese cuisine that ill never had before. Some of my favorite meals while visiting jalapenos. I entered it with an open mind, although if some westerners had reservations about the food, im aware. There is surprisingly abundant seafood in comparison to what we have in

I have a feeling that this place is not suitable for everyone. The location is close to the tourist attractions and restaurants. It is also very convenient to access the internet.

I am very satisfied with this trip. The front desk staff at this hotel speak excellent english and the service from other staff members is attentive and friendly. Hot springs are not crowded, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Food is delicious and plentiful. Rooms were spacious and clean.

I cant wait to return! Beautiful onsen ryokan in hakone. Stayed in the japanese western annex. The private onset and garden were amazing! Service and food were excellent.

The ryokan, which is more than 150 years old, is truly remarkable. It boasts a refreshing mineral content in water. However, the building requires some repair and maintenance. Unfortunately, there is no bar or restaurant available, providing wholesome breakfast through room service.

The food was delicious, the garden was immaculate, and the sauna was hard to beat. Our only complaint was that our room on the 5th floor smelled like food. This place was amazing.
