I came here with my partner and parents for a family holiday. The house is beautiful, with a very wellequipped kitchen and many nice places to take in the view. There is a really furlough trail up to a lookout from behind the house and we also walked over to Vivian Bay and got only a bit lost. Kawaru is a magical place and helen and dave have really great setups with good instructions for getting around in folders in each bedroom very helpful! We also used their kayaks and had a blast exploring in the mangroves. Highly recommended!.

We stayed with a group of three families and had a great time. we paddled with dolphins, caught fish off the wharf and the kids had a great time chase all the native weak. What a great place, super comfortable beds with lovely showers and very clean and tidy.

My wife and I recently stayed at the lodge for two nights and chose to take our own boat over from the sand spit. We were very impressed with kawaru lodge it has everything you could want from self contained accommodations. The views are breathtaking, the kitchen is well-appointed, easy access and ample space to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the island. We chose to bring our own boat over and could park it overnight at the floating pontoon which was very convenient.

The location and view are amazing. The shared kitchen is fantastic and well maintained. The bedrooms are small, but the bed is large and very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and modern. But, there is no kitchenette. The rooms only have a bed, unless you choose one with a private bathroom, there is no boat that the caretaker will taxi you around on. There is no bar. Food, milk, bread, and eggs are provided for your own breakfast. There is a kayak, sup and many very nice outside areas. The location is great but does not have what the website says. Make sure you take all your food there.

Overall, very pleasant. Comfortable room with a view of the bay. Nice bed, heated bathroom, lovely toiletries and delicious cuisine. Very helpful and genuinely friendly hosts. Wonderful sounds of kiwi birds and weak.
