The lodge was absolutely gorgeous and was exquisitely appointed with beautiful landscaped grounds overlooking Lake Taupo. Our hosts, Gary and Shirley, paid great personal attention to every detail, from showing us all the the features of our room, to ensuring all of our dinner reservations were arranged properly. The afternoon hor d'oeuvres and wine and morning breakfasts were also delicious.

Owner Gary and Chef Chris were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. Very natural hospitality minded folks, Gary thoughtfully pre-booked us dinner reservations nearby, which was very thoughtful. Canapés and wine happy hour was a delight. Would love to come back soon!

Great hospitality, lovely setting. Excellent cooked breakfast. Good position for exploring the region. The only thing lacking was in-house dining at night but this is available in busy periods. and the host provides details of local restaurants.

Súper Anlage, sehr herzliche Betreuung durch die Inhaber, beim Frühstück wird alles frisch zubereitet. Einfach Klasse…und natürlich der gigantische Blick auf den See über den wunderschönen Garten…Vielen Dank Gary

My wife and I stayed here for two nights March 2017. The lodge has a feeling more like a staying in a private home. Our room was very spacious with a great lake view. Gary and his wife make your stay very special. They have an excellent knowledge of the area and provided recomendations for day trips. The grounds a fabulous with many species of exotic plantings. The whole experience was world class.

Thus is a great B&B, the lodges are very quiet and there is a lovely view of the Lake and mountains behind.

Gary went above and beyond to make this place one of the best places to stay. The breakfast was the greatest of all time. Also you can rely on Gary for suggestions for activities that will definitely make your stay brighter. They are known for having a high score here. a genuine passion. I hope you have a wonderful time.

A beautiful house with beautiful views of Lake Taupe. I want to say it felt like home because it did and the attentiveness and friendliness of hosts Gary and Shirley certainly make you feel very welcome. Lake Taupe Lodge does not do it justice if your home is an impressive, lovely, and well-furnished home set in ten acres of well-kept gardens alive with color and interest. I can't thank Sherri and Gary enough for making me feel so welcome in their lovely home. Oh and the wonderful breakfast keeps you up all day!.

Sadly, we could not enjoy dining at the lodge as staffing at the lodge seems to be a problem currently which is a real shame and seems to be a common theme at the moment. Very attentive service and it was great to meet other guests. Breakfast was provided and was good with lots of options.

We've made a few new friends in Gary and Shirley, who also made us feel at ease and welcome. And then, the friendliness from Gary and Shanley were great. After that, they give a Billiard Room and an Open Fire. Subsequently, the place was stylish with a homey feel. Subsequently, they serve a beautiful table and an open fire.
