We had a wonderful stay. The complex was beautiful and well kept with 3 lovely pools and some restaurants and bars and supermarket etc, the agents there were so friendly and helpful, the apartment was beautiful and to top it all the weather was lovely. I would highly recommend.

Very nice place, clean, friendly staff. The pool was absolutly amazing. The apartment was well equiped, just missing a grill that I expected it to have it, as for summer Holidays is good to prepare some easy meals. I would recommend this place.

Lovely studio apartment with living area and sliding doors through to twin bedded room - beautiful private roof terrace with two loungers, two parasols and table and chairs - we loved our apartment and will definitely book again

This was a late booking for a couple, the studio was very spacious even included a washing machine if needed, 3 seperate pools with small pool bar. Supermarket on site and it only took 10 minutes to wal to the marina at the centre of Vilamoura, I cant recommend this property highly enough and will definately be back next year with the extended family, tourist train stoped just outside the complex and was worth a trip on the 1st day to see exactly were everything is in the resort, i think there was at least 4 seperate places to eat and the food was excellent , “ specials” of a really high quality and portions very good

Stayed at the old village for 6 nights at the end of August. 2 adults and a 5 year old stayed in studio apartment which was more than adequately sized to act as our base. The studio was nicely decorated and very well equipped. It overlooked the ‘Dolphin Pool’ which was surprisingly quiet and relaxing for the time of year - beautiful! The Old Village was everything you would expect from a village, a choice of restaurants and bars, a supermarket, bakery, play area for children. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it to couples and families alike. However, if I was to be really picky, I was disappointed that inflatables weren’t allowed in the pool.

The complex is lovely, spotless, and in great shape. The bars and pool areas are well-maintained, and the lodging is extremely pleasant. If you have small children, there is a small playground there, but because it is outside of the shade, it can be hot in the middle of the day. The pool's sunbeds are the only issue I have. We had to halt at 9 a.m. in the morning for the pool to open, and if you weren't there, you won't get a bed. You must also pay for the lodging, which I thought was a little excessive given that it wasn't cheap to stay here. It can add up over the course of the vacation if there are a few family members.

The complex itself is lovely, with gorgeous flowers and many restaurants and bars, all of which have nice employees and tasty food. Diego and the taxi service he operates on site were incredibly amazing, and we would have been lost without them. The bakery and shop on site are both wonderful. But accommodation is a pure luck experiment that greatly depends on how you make the reservation, i. E. application Liven holidays, etc. We traveled for a family wedding. I was very hesitant to book because I had read reviews on this blog, but after seeing many bloggers show their stay and going on photos on application, I decided to give it a shot. The three-bedroom apartment we reserved was more than a rental of an old house someone had passed away in, and it was literally on rent. It was filthy, outdated, the couch was filthy, the sofa bed was broken, and the kilograms upstairs were gross. After a long day of traveling, we were very disappointed. Based on the pictures they had uploaded, we reserved through application, and were very disappointed. Other family members who had booked directly had a better time. The girls at the reception helped us move but it was merely a coincidence. The ad next door was decorated to such high standard inside, and there was a lovely smeg fridge. I stayed here with my partner and our young children. The first and most important thing is that our apartment is directly facing the pub, with our bedroom windows looking straight down on the tables and just a few meters away which was disaster for a young baby. None of the pools have any dedicated areas for kids which is strange. There are huge steps and cobbled paving in the complex, so it is neither wheelchair friendly nor suitable for buggies etc. The apartment was reasonably clean, but the decor is ancient and easily 30 random and weird pictures on the wall. The bathroom was filthy and appeared to be 30 years old. The kitchen was decent and well equipped with plates, cups, and pots. I give the review 1 star as it is only concerned with bringing young kids here, which I wouldn't advise. If we didn't have kids, I would give it a higher rating.

Been to Old Village before and this was a ground floor 2 bedroom apartment. Lovely and cool and generally quiet. The accommodation could have done with another sofa. The pools became very busy at the beginning of the summer holidays.

Last min booking and what a treat. The apartment is spacious if a little dated and overlooking the pool. Very clean and lots of choice for a quiet drink and food. Supermarket on site. All staff were friendly and the gardens are kept lovely

Large well designed apartments surrounded by well kept gardens. Several restaurants/bars and three swimming pools. Our apartment was very spacious but in need of repair in places and badly needed some new furniture. Nevertheless,we had a stunning view from our private sun terrace and felt little need to struggle to the public beaches.

This is our third time to the Old Village as we love it, but the first time booking through hotels.com. Everything was great except for one incident. On Wed night at around 8.30pm we were in our studio which was 12A Village Sq. We were getting ready to go out. A young lad of about 15 or so let himself into our house with a key. My husband was startled and asked what he was doing. The lad got a fright and said he didnt realise anyone was in...that he just wanted to get the wifi code.! and that his Dad owns the house. My husband let him take a photo of the code on the back of front door. The boy then said sorry and left. It was only after he had left that I came from the bathroom with a towel on me. I dont need to let you know how wrong this whole thing was.!.. I Went out to see if I could see him or the Dad but could not find them. So had he taken a key without the dad knowing or did the dad think it was ok for him to just let himself in to peoples rental properties. Anything of ours could have gone missing and the cleaners would have been blamed on it. I would like an explanation, and an apology from the owner of the house, as this was not the staff in the Old Village's fault. The lady at reception in Live'n Holidays was highly apologetic and gave us another house to shower in while we had checked out ahead of our flight. I await your response. Yours, Caroline

The location is not as handy for walkers , fine for people with a car,, Managers are helpful and very informative, grounds are impressive, pools are not heated , a lot of people partying at this location,,,, if you like dining out and drinking by your room this is the spot,,golfing is handy,,, but expensive,,

these studios for two at the old village are perfect. everything is provided that you would need and even has a washer. the old village is a lovely place to stay with plenty of places to eat and drink. 3 pools to choose from and if you want to go to vilamoura they have a minibus that will take you and there is also a road train if you dont want to walk. we usually stay in a villa and go to the village on a night , but we thouroughly enjoyed our stay here and we will return.
