What a fantastic location! My parents and my partner, who were traveling with me in march for two nights, and we enjoyed ourselves. Wendy, the hotel's manager, warmly welcomed us when we arrived. She is a wonderful person. incredibly cordial and enthusiastic. Its a lovely location. We had the entire motel to ourselves, as well as game drives. We had one game drive in our package, which was adequate, but we were trying to get the park out of our way because my family had traveled all the way from the uk to go to Sa. Although not the most thorough learner, our guide was lovely and welcoming. He didn't say much either, and he was a really good person who brought us some fantastic sightings. One of our drives in just half an hour allowed us to see two of their famous tuckers. On our first drive, all others were filled with incredible elephants. The accommodation included everything we needed for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and there were plenty of it, so you won't be hungry. Wonderful setting. On the first night, the lodge positioned a lovely fire pit overlooking a backcountry field with no end of elephants as a backstop. Stunning setting. Everything about the week-end was picture perfect for us to slow-down and relax after a busy week. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, the rangers knowledgeable and the food great. The room was very comfortable and clean. Definitely worth a second visit and highly recommended.

Pleasant atmosphere where you forget the world around you. Staff are very friendly and they take interest in you and always available to help in any way. The fact that there is no WIFI is forgotten within hours. Of you are looking for peaceful, service and experience for a good price, this is the place to be.

We stayed at the royal thong safari lodge for 2 days, which is conveniently located between join and koi bay on the border of Mozambique and Sa. The experience of meeting elephants was fantastic. Our heart raced loudly. We love Zululand and its wildlife both on land, sea, and in the water. I was treated with 5 stars and the most attentive staff.

We will return and strongly recommend staying at this lodge. In March 2022, we spent three nights in this lovely lodge. What a gorgeous location. We were promptly met at the front desk by a friendly receptionist and carried our luggage to our room. The accommodations are large, tastefully decorated, and immaculate. After visiting the park for the day, the bed ensures a restful nights sleep. Both the breakfast and the evening meal prepared by Siboniso were excellent. The park is a five-minute drive from the lodge. A cool swim in the afternoon was quite helpful in the wonderful pool.

This lodge is in excellent condition despite the unavailability of guests due to jungle. The staff is very kind. The manager, Wendy, is a really nice person and a real asset to the lodge. The supper was simple yet fantastic. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety available. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I strongly recommend Royal Thong Safari Lodge.

This is a beautiful property but a little more effort is needed for upkeep. For example floors should be swept regularly and sofas dusted to remove animal drippings, bugs, cobwebs etc. Found a couple lizards in the bed netting and one crawling on the pillow! Room rafters, windows etc need dusting and cobwebs removed. Before dusk staff should check rooms are bug free and put down bednets. Food is great - fresh and tasty - but cooking with a little less grease/oil/butter would be perfect! Game drives are awesome!

Simply wonderful! Great location near to Tembe Elephant Park. Very tranquil and serene. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Well appointed and sealed so even though you are immersed in the African bush, you do not have to worry about mosquitos or bugs in the room. Lovely dining and lounge areas.

Safari was good no complaints there however, We booked the honeymoon suite, it’s the same as all the other rooms just with rose petals on the bed. They charge you extra for sundowners if you have a double, they charge you for water on the drives even though it’s offered to you as if it’s included. Food is average, very basic. Some local cuisine would be nice. Staff very difficult over charging and bills, no menu provided or price list for extra game drives, they made up the prices.

Un hotel qui ne vaut pas le tarif que nous avons paye. Pas de pression dans la douche, peu d eau chaude, chambres tres peu éclairées et pour couronner le tout de nombreuses chenilles dans la salle de bain, dans la chambre et sur le lit également.
