I followed a sign for casa touristic on the road after driving all day, wondering if I missed a turn or if it was no longer operating. As you climb up the hillside from the main road, the scenery is beautiful, especially when you look back down at the river. Nothing more rural than this. surrounded by dairy farms and beautiful countryside. I'm a bird lover and could hear birds of prey as if they were kept by the neighbor. Sure enough, there were two harris hawks in the dairy farmers garden tied to their garden. They use them to catch vermin. Wow! The gentleman proprietor here was very friendly and cheerfully chatted to me in broken Spanish. In the dining and breakfast room, they also prepare evening meals and have an incredible indoor fire with a hood over it. The room I had was very pretty, dark wood and cream painted, with a window facing the dairy farm, fields, and hills beyond. I would have liked to stay longer to be able to enjoy the local walks. The entire house is fairly dark for my taste, but it is definitely interesting.

We only stayed with two children for one night! The poses were charming, and we were really well taken care of. They set up a special room so that we could sleep all four together, and they gave us lots of information on nearby activities and sights. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious! I recommend it to anyone wanting to spend time in Ribadeo, hiking, or just getting some fresh country air!.

After finishing the Camino de Santos de Compostela and on the journey to Sardinia, we stayed in a lovely, little hamlet in a beautifully restored mansion in a tiny hamlet. We traveled up to the home on a smaller, quicker road, but if you don't miss the small sign, there is a better road! On arrival, we were offered a lovely bottle of albino wine out in the gorgeous garden. We were spoiled by the owner, but they hadn't received our reservation. We had a wonderful evening in a room with a fireplace that was lighted to make it feel atmosphere, but I was glad of it for the warmth. Our room was beautifully furnished, and the bathroom was bright and clean. We had doors outside our bedroom to the corridor that we could close for a very peaceful night's sleep. This casa rural comes highly recommended.
