Location - I am a regular guest at this property. It’s a bit of a heaven , utterly relaxing, surrounded by nature. The quality of my sleep always improves when staying at the property. The hosts, Supipi and Uthpala are super hosts. The meals are mostly made by Supipi herself and of course delicious. This time stayed for 6 days, could have easily stayed longer. Will definitely return.

Our family of five daughters, ages 815, thoroughly enjoyed our time at Raintree Villa. It is in a beautiful area surrounded by trees in a peaceful village with colourful houses. Supine was a lovely host, preparing some of the best meals we had during our trip, including delicious desserts, organizing day trips, and conversing with us. The employees were always happy and friendly. The accommodation is close to the Dambulla Caves, and pick-up is free. Watch out for the sliced mango stands down the hill from the caves, which are in mango season, if you are there in mango season. We also toured the Sigiriya and Ritgala ruins, both must-see locations, and an elephant safari in Kaudulla Park, where we saw about 200 elephants! Supine arranged a fantastic drivervijith from Mathis Jeep Tours, and we loved traveling in his open-air jeep with him. We appreciated having a pool to cool off in, and the kids enjoyed the company of the two dogs, Lassie and Mickey. We also really liked having a water dispenser where we could fill our water bottles rather than contributing to the waste of plastic bottles. I would ignore the crazy guests who vindictively left a poor review, and listen to the good ones!.

This Raintree Dambulla was a wonderful blessing for me. It was peaceful and serene. For a female solo traveler, it was equally secure. I remained in Solace, a cottage at the end of the property that overlooked a small stream. There were so many birds, including eagles and kingfishers, that had been waiting patiently to catch the fish in the drying water bed. The mornings were the best, with a symphony of bird songs being waking up. Through the roof's glass portion, you could view the star-filled sky at night. I adored the monkeys who would pee at you from that glass section throughout the day. Because of the wind factor, the weather wasn't as hot either. We must thank you for the delectable meals as well. Still can reminisce about the chill paste lunumiris and coconut ditto.

My family spent a week at Raintree Villa and enjoyed it so much. The villa is large and has all the facilities we need. The food is delicious and they do so much to change it day by day. They have a few small lakes and brought a kayak for my kids to use. I will definitely stay there again.

We booked the exquisite Solace Chalet from the Raintree Homestay through airbob. The house was beautiful and it had a lake view. I spent a wonderful night on the veranda and watched turtles swim up to us. We went to the Dambulla Cave Temples in the afternoon, and then lions rock the next morning. It is the ideal place to stay for both of these activities. For both of these activities, one night is sufficient. The food is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

Die Gastgeberin ist sehr herzlich und aufmerksam. Stets bemüht um den Aufenthalt dort perfekt zu machen. Die Lage ist Top an einem kleine See/Teich gelegen. Das Frühstück war bombastisch gut (einheimisches Frühstück) wie auch das Abendessen. Wir waren hier lediglich 3 Tage haben es aber sehr genossen. Das Einzige was uns nicht gefallen hat war die Tatsache, dass kein Moskitonetz vorhanden war. Da das Haus direkt am See liegt hat man viele kleine Krabbeltierchen. Und diese kamen durch jede Ritze in diesem Lehmhaus was ja auch normal ist. Nur dann benötigt man zwingend ein Netz um eben nicht Nachts von riesigen Ameisen auf dem Bauch geweckt zu werden :-D Wir haben uns mit BrumBrum Spray eingedeckt und entsprechend rumgesprüht. Dann war auch das Thema so gut wie erledigt. Dennoch ist sowas in Ländern wie Sri Lanka ein Muss wie ich finde. Dennoch absolut empfehlenswert.
