Cozy and quiet rooms on the upper floors of a walk up. Rooms are tidy, clean and comfortable. Only really in it to rest, sleep and clean up; and perfect for that. Many shops, restaurants, coffee shops and stores within a few block radius. Just two blocks up from Princess Street, where all buses run, and a short 15 min walk from train station. Short 20 minute stroll to Royal mile and Castle. Centrally located in every sense of the word.

Great central location and just off the Main Street so middle of town convenience with non-high street souls levels. Loved the natural light coming in through the big windows in the afternoon. The bathroom was updated, clean, felt upscale. And biscuits every day left in the room after it had been cleaned. Friendly front desk and knowledgeable to boot.

My friend and I stayed here in the top floor twin room for 2 nights during Fringe Festival/Tattoo. The location was perfect, close enough to everything but far enough away that it was peaceful. The lady who runs the townhouse has a wealth of local knowledge which she is more than keen to share to make your stay even better. The room was spacious, clean and well presented (at 6’3’ my friend had to mind his head but otherwise it was perfect). We’ve already discussed coming to stay again next year to revisit the delight that is Edinburgh!

Basic accommodation, but it's an old historic house. No lift but they hadn't been invented 300 years ago. Owners great. Very near town centre. Highly recommended.

Edinburgh Townhouse is situated right in the heart of New Town, a short walk from all the sights. The view of Edinburgh Castle from in front of the hotel is amazing. We stayed in room #8, which is at the top of the house, is very cute, clean, and warm, and has a nice view over the rooftops. The bathroom is excellent: pretty and clean with great water flow from the shower head. The staff there was very helpful, providing us with a map and pointing out a good restaurant and grocery nearby. It’s also a very safe hotel: I was provided with a key to the front door, a key to the hotel floors, and a key to my room. Very happy with this hotel.

Hotelli sijaitsee loistavalla paikalla Edinburgissa: vanha kaupupunki on kävelyetäisyydellä, uuden puolen shoppailumahdollisuudet on aivan nurkilla, kulku lentokentälle lentokenttäbussilla kulkee aivan läheltä ja ravintolamaailma aukeaa näppärästi kulmilla. Ainakin yhden hengen huone hotellin ensimmäisessä kerroksessa (talon 3. kerros) oli oikein simppelin mukava, hyvä sänky ja vuodevaatteet, toimiva pieni wc-suihkutila, siistiä, rauhallinen (jos hotellin asukkaat ovat rauhallisia, ja nyt ainakin sattui näin). Hotellin henkilökunta on oikein avuliasta ja mukavaa. Miinukset puuttuvasta aamupalasta, mutta sitäkin saa helposti läheisistä kaupoista, ravintoloista tai kahviloista. Huoneessa vedenkeitin ja tee/kahvi tarjolla. Hotelli sopii sijainniltaan ja olemukseltaan liikkuville ihmisille ja näppärää majoitusta hakeville.

We had a family room only because there wasn’t a twin available when we booked. The room was clean spacious and had good facilities. The bathroom was small but was fine for what we needed. Be aware the guest house is located at the top of 3 flights of stairs, so would not suit less able people. However the guest house is in a great location, only 2 streets from Princes street and close to all the shops. There are lots of bars and restaurants around the corner and we could had a cracking view of the castle from our bedroom window. We will definitely look into availability here when we next visit the city
