fantastic time. Amazing hosts with excellent knowledge of the local whisky, lovely surroundings! Check-in was very simple. The two proprietors were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what to do in the area and really cared about our visit even after we checked out. The bar was lovely and cozy with a wide selection of whisky. Breakfast was excellent. The room was lovely, spotless, and had great conveniences. Beautiful views, a beautiful waterfall walk. Would certainly recommend and hope to return.

I had a lovely experience staying at the Wayside. The accommodation is very recommended. We stayed there for 6 nights, and the staff is very accommodating. I enjoyed the dinner, and brunch, and the owner is very nice and accommodating. The only regret we have is that we don't stay any more nights!

We enjoyed our time at Wayside, Eriko is a very knowledgeable and passionate about Lakes and Food. Our home-cooked meal was excellent and of high quality ingredients and style, including the best pea mint soup I have ever had! The breakfast was also very tasty, I'd say it was a clean breakfast. Thank you so much. We are looking forward to our return, certainly more soon.

After a fantastic three-night stay at the wayside and whisky barn, we have recently returned from West Crica. We stayed in the stunning annexe, located behind the home. A genuinely comfortable and self-contained space with a sizable ensure and log fire! Breakfast was always wholesome and delicious. Emi was a wonderful host. Nothing was too much problem for her. She has excellent neighborhood knowledge and provided us with some terrific travel advice. It's worth it to hike up the hill at the back of the house to discover the waterfall with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Wast water is a wonderful visit, a lovely drive along the lake to the wast water head, and a beautiful, if not hairy drive when you return crosscountry over the fells. If you have the chance, old kings head at Bring offers a superb evening dinner and cartel is well worth a visit. The michelin star restaurant seems to be a huge attraction, and we hope to come back soon. Emi, thank you for taking care of us. Teresa.

What a lovely location to stay. There are a lot of great tips and local knowledge shared by eriko and doreen about where we could go or explore, which was a great way to make us get the most from our trip. Highly recommended location to stay and eat, very pleasant and a fantastic location to explore the area without being caught up in the central lakes tourist traffic. We felt incredibly welcomed, and check-in, parking, etc were all straightforward. We reserved an evening meal, which was fantastic, and a night at the bar and sampling some of the many, many whiskies. This is where knowledge and passion really shined through and significantly enhanced our stay and my whisky collection, as I ultimately purchased a bottle! Doreen was incredibly kind and attentive, and service was excellent. Every morning's breakfast was excellent in both in terms of quality and size. Eriko and Doreen gave us some excellent recommendations and shared local knowledge, which was crucial in maximizing our trip. The best place to stay and eat is a top-notch location to explore the region, but isn't distracted by the crowded tourist rush of the central lakes. Beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean.
